DPW OFFICE/YARD CLOSURES AND SERVICE IMPACTS

Columbus Day (Observed) - Monday, October 8, 2012

 

Director Alfred H. Foxx reminds Baltimore City residents that since Columbus Day is a City holiday, Department of Public Works' offices and yards will be closed on Monday, October 8, 2012.

 

Columbus Day (Observed):     

  • This is NOT a regularly scheduled trash or recycling day. 
  • NO BULK TRASH collections are scheduled. 
  • Citizen drop-off centers WILL BE CLOSED (all yards including Quarantine Road Landfill, the Northwest Transfer Station and the Eastern, Western and Northwest Collections Facilities). 
  • Parking meters will be in effect.

TREE PLANTING SEASON IN MIDTOWN
Volunteers Needed!


Tree Stewards in all four Midtown neighborhoods are looking for volunteers to assist in tree planting.  As soon as Tree Baltimore delivers our ordered trees weekend planting days will get underway. Midtown's Green Team is now grinding out tree stumps every day to make more tree wells planting-ready.  Please contact our volunteer coordinator Jessica Blackwell to sign up to help us green our communities. Planting dates are: 
  • Oct 20 - Mt Vernon Trees
  • Nov 3 - Bolton Hill Trees
  • Nov 10 - Mt Vernon Square bulb planting
