NYCPM to Grant Over $700K in 2014-15;

APMA Scholarships Awarded to 28 Students

Louis L. Levine, President and CEO of NYCPM, has announced that the College will provide more than $700,000 in scholarship funds to students in 2014-2015.

In addition, each year, the American Podiatric Medical Association awards its APMA Education Foundation Scholarships to deserving students who are (student) members of the APMA, entering the 3rd or 4th year, and who maintain a specified minimum cumulative GPA. Upgrades to Facilities Keep NYCPM/FCNY Ahead of the Curve

Technological upgrades to all of the facilities at NYCPM are being made with great rapidity; no matter when you might have graduated, a new visit to the College or Foot Center will provide something previously unseen or experienced.

The College captures classes on video that is accessible to all students on almost any device. Images, PowerPoint slides, and sound are all there, so that students can effectively re-attend their classes when studying.

Chairman of the Board: Maj. Gen. William F. Ward, Jr., A.U.S. (Ret.).

General Ward was elected to the NYCPM Board of Trustees in September 2000, elected Chairman in July 2006, and elected Vice Chairman in July 2008. In November 2013, Chairman Stanley Mandel passed away, and General Ward, then Vice Chairman, was once again elected Chairman in July 2014.
       General Ward is a 1950 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and received a commission in the Cavalry. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Law degree from LaSalle University. He served in ... Read more

NYCPM Library Steps Outside to Exhibit Rare Books

In an effort to display its resources and make them better known, and to increase both utilization and appreciation, the NYCPM Library is undertaking an exhibition schedule that will bring its treasures outside its doors to the school hallway on the second floor. The exhibition will rotate every two months. Right now, a rare book collection that few know about, let alone have seen, is being shown in a new illuminated glass case. APMA President Frank Spinosa, DPM ('80), Presents at NYCPM

Dr. Frank Spinosa, DPM ('80), was installed as president of the APMA in March of 2014, and on August 26, he made separate presentations to each NYCPM class in his capacity as president. 

NYCPM Alumnus Reaches 100 

Dr. Oswald Chisholm, DPM ('49), a World War II veteran who became a podiatrist after his military service, celebrated his centennial in the company of his family and friends at Wood Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Palm Beach, FL.

Bryan Kelly, MD,

Appointed Chief of 
Sports Medicine Service at HSS 

Todd J. Alpert, M.D., the new Surgeon-in-Chief at Manhattan's prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery, has announced the appointment of noted Orthopedic Surgeon Bryan Kelly, M.D as chief of the Sports Medicine Service at HSS. Dr. Kelly is also a Professor in NYCPM's Department of Academic Orthopedic Surgery, chaired by Rock Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH. Dr. Positano states "This is a testament to the skills and reputation of Dr. Kelly. We are delighted to have him as part of our department at NYCPM."
