NDI In Action

On January 15, dozens of children and parents participated in an NDI Dance Workshop at the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan. The workshop was led by Teaching Artist Bianca Johnson, Master Drummer Roderick Jackson, and members of the NDI Celebration Team, who also performed.

In December, January and February, thousands of NDI dancers in our 30 partner schools participated in Mid-Year Assemblies, performing on stage for the very first time in front of their peers and parents. This year's curricular theme, Science and the Arts Play Together, served as the inspiration for the movement the children showcased.

In February, NDI Associate Artistic Director Tracy Straus, Music Director Jerome Korman and Teaching Artist Ahnya Chang led a two-week residency for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders of the East Harlem School. The dancers learned NDI movement and choreography set to music from great American composers and musicians of the early-to-mid 20th century. More info/photos
