Registration for the 2013 Season is officially underway and the response so far has been tremendous.  We will begin working on the pairings for Red Wing, MN and contacting anglers to verify entry starting April 1st. All launch and weigh-in activities for Red Wing will take place at Bay Point Park on Levee Road. All indications point to this being a fantastic event! We're excited to kick off the 2013 season and hope you're able to fish with us.

Please note that there is a 100% way to guarantee yourself a spot in the events.  To do so, sign up 14 days prior to each tournament - Boaters sign up with a Co-angler and provide their name and phone number upon entry. Co-anglers do the same, sign up with a Boater and provide their name and number upon entry.  This MUST be done 14 days prior to the tournament meeting (by April 10th for the Red Wing event). This is the GUARANTEED TOURNAMENT ENTRY DEADLINE.  Anglers can still sign within 14 days before the event but we will be unable to guarantee your entry.

Also, be sure to check out the articles below.  We continue to add some of the biggest names in the industry as NWT sponsors and are grateful for their support. Please remember registration for all 2013 NWT events is available online, by phone at 612-424-0708/501-317-7548 or by US Mail (simply print and complete the 2013 entry form below and follow the return instructions).  Priority entry (but not guaranteed) will be given to anglers signing up for all three (3) regular season events.  Single event entries will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.  We're excited to kick-off the 2013 season and hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

Anthony Wright
NWT Tournament Director

Walleye Trolling

Tackle, Techniques and Systems Used by America's Best Pros

Just in time for anglers looking to enhance their trolling skills this season is a new fishing guidebook called "Walleye Trolling: Tackle, Techniques and Systems Used by North America's Best Walleye Tournament Pros and Guides."

The book, co-authored by Great Lakes guide and tournament angler Capt. Ross Robertson and former "FLW Walleye Fishing" magazine managing editor Curtis Niedermier, details 11 of the most effective modern trolling systems.

All the information comes straight from expert sources such as Gary Roach, Al Lindner, Tom Keenan, Bruce Samson, Mike Gofron, Dave Csanda, Brett King, John Gillman, Mark Brumbaugh, Joe Okada, Johnnie Candle, Todd Frank, Chip Cartwright and Ron Levitan Jr.

"Walleye Trolling" also offers readers a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to travel across the United States and Canada in pursuit of walleyes. Throughout the book, the pros share their favorite road-trip and tournament stories - the insightful lessons, the trophy walleyes, the victories and failures, and a few downright hilarious situations - from their combined hundreds of years in the industry. Many of these stories are told to the public for the very first time in "Walleye Trolling."

"Walleye Trolling" (soft cover, 160 pages, 18 chapters) is available immediately at BigWaterFishing.com for $24.95. For more information about the book, contact Curtis Niedermier at 419.618.7909 or Ross Robertson at 419.283.7069.
