Greetings!

2010 was a great year for Network of Caring! Thank you for making this past year a breakout one for the primary charity of Network TwentyOne globally. And now, with three months of 2011 already in the books, it is clear this is going to be an even greater year for NOC! Read below to see where we have been and where we are going.
2010...Foundations

Thai Kid"The thing that lies at the foundation of positive change, the way I see it, is service to a fellow human being."                   --Lee Iacocca

A foundation for positive change was laid all over the world in 2010 by Network of Caring and those who support her. Because of our service to others in 2010 there is not a continent in the world without some kind of NOC initiative in place. Thousands of faces found a way to smile in spite of their challenges. The disabled, the poor, the young, the homeless, the hungry, the sick, the displaced, the orphan, the abused--people without hope or help in the world--were given both because Network of Caring came to them.

Here are a few of the highlights of 2010:

  1. NOC was presented for the first time in the Asia-Pacific and European regions of Network TwentyOne.
  2. Official charitable status was granted to NOC by the governments of Australia and South Africa.
  3. The Fernando Foundation formed 4 more power soccer teams in the US, started the Kick It Shop to provide equipment to players and teams, and lauched power soccer in Singapore.
  4. NOC met its goal of distributing 4 containers of wheelchairs (2200 wheelchairs) around the world.
  5. NOC sent a container of wheelchairs and $13,000 in food and medical supplies to earthquake ravaged Haiti.
  6. NOC funded the annual budget of an orphanage in Thailand.
  7. NOC funded 2000 child rescue kits to children in crisis in Europe.
  8. Thousands of children around the world were cared for through our partnership with World Vision.

On behalf of our founders, Jim and Nancy Dornan, thank you for your incredible support of Network of Caring!

Wheelchairs Distributed in South Africa
SA Wheelchairs1
Founders Diamond David Dornan, Network TwentyOne CEO, Jeff Neuber, and Network of Caring Chief Significance Officer, R.D. Saunders recently participated in a wheelchair distribution in Zandspruit, South Africa. This past July Network TwentyOne/ Amway affiliated business owners in Southern Africa generously gave to fund an entire container of chairs (550 chairs @ $33,000) for South Africa and neighboring countries. David and R.D. personally lifted people into their chairs. One lady has lost a leg in traffic accident. Another gentleman had been hurt on the job. His lack of mobility meant he would fall when trying to move from place to place. He had large gashes in his hands that were still bleeding as he was lifted into his new chair by David. SA wheelchairsA little girl, pictured here, has battled a disease since birth.

Monitors Given to Children's Cancer Ward
baragwanathBaragwanath Hospital's Pediatric Oncology Ward in Johannesburg South Africa the proud owner of 5 new vital signs monitors thanks to the generosity of Network TwentyOne's IBOs in the Southern Africa region. After we planned to help this ward we discovered that it was first launched by an N21 IBO and pediatrician, Dr. Mike Greeff. From the begininning this ward has been a source of great comfort to 1000s children in Johannesburg and South Africa. Now armed with the latest technology, Baragwanath's dedicated physicians can offer an even higher level of care to children with cancer. A big thanks to our donors in Southern Africa for helping NOC to continue to touch the lives of children in need!
Canadians Now Have Tax Deductibility for NOC Donations
CCWMOur friends from Canada have always had the heart to give to NOC but, with the tax situation, they did not have the opportunity. But now Network of Caring has established a partnership with The Canadian Centre for World Mission and their sister organization, Canada Helps, allowing NOC donors from Canada to receive a tax deduction on their country's taxes. CCWM will retain only 6% of each donation to offset their accounting costs but they will send the other 94% of the donation to Network of Caring in the US. Now our fantastic Network TwentyOne/Amway affiliated business owners from Canada can join truly join the mission of NOC with which they so often identified. Welcome Canada!
