Greater New Orleans Lemonade Day is Saturday, May 5th. Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business - a lemonade stand. It began in Houston, Texas in 2007. Since then it has grown from 2,700 kids to 120,000 kids in 31 cities across America and Canada in 2011 - including ours!

You're invited to New Orleans' first ever Sustainable Business Awards Ceremony, the Green Natties!  For the past year, 60 incredible organizations in our City have competed in demonstrating their positive social and environmental impact on our region.  Come cheer on your favorite restaurant, company, or non-profit as we recognize their incredible service to our community!
 
The event will be the Academy Awards for Green Businesses - that means that in addition to delicious free food and beverage and music from Fredy Omar, you will experience a fun awards ceremony complete with video interviews, hosts from local comedy group Stupid Time Machine, skits, and more!

Crawfish Mambo Cook-Off & Music Festival at the University of New Orleans  

 

Join your friends from the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce for Crawfish Mambo. All-you-can-eat crawfish and a competition to be the best crawfish boil team in New Orleans

WHAT:                     

Crawfish Mambo will feature a crawfish cook-off, all-you-can-eat boiled crawfish for festival attendees, live local music with other food and beverage available for purchase. This event will support the UNO community. We welcome all crawfish and music enthusiasts to join us at this inaugural event.

 

MUSIC: 

Crawfish Mambo will include live, local music throughout the Festival day, including Bonerama and Rockin' Dopsie.  

 

The complete musical line-up for this year's Crawfish Mambo is:

 

11:00 am - Noon          UNO Jazz Allstars

12:15 - 1:15 pm           Mia Borders

1:30 - 2:30 pm             Brass-A-Holics "Gogo Brass Funk" Band

2:45 - 4:00 pm             Paul Sanchez and the Rolling Road Show

4:15 - 5:30 pm             Rockin' Dopsie, Jr. & the Zydeco Twisters

5:45 - 7:00 pm             Bonerama

 

 

PARTICIPATE:      

The Crawfish Mambo team is now accepting applications for four-member boil teams for the "Best Tasting Crawfish" competition. Each team will cook a minimum of 10 sacks of crawfish. The $200 entry fee provides teams crawfish to cook and they need to supply their own cooking utensils, spices and any additional fixings they wish to offer the crowds.

 

A panel of celebrity judges will determine the winner of the Cook-off Competition and the first, second and third place winners will be announced. Each team is also invited to compete for the Best Decorated Booth Award.

$15.00 - pre-purchased tickets prior to event date          $20.00 - day-of event tickets
