Newcastle officially launched its new website March 31, 2017, giving residents an online resource that is easier to navigate, adaptable to today's mobile-friendly environment and more attractive.
Celebrate Earth Week with the City of Newcastle

Council to Honor Yes Drummer Alan White

Come help us congratulate resident  Alan White  on his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame enshrinement at next week's Newcastle City Council meeting!

The legendary Yes drummer, a frequent Newcastle Days performer, will be on hand to accept a proclamation from the mayor at the April 18 meeting.

Newcastle Honored for Budget Presentation

For the eighth consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association honored the Newcastle Finance Department with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

In order to receive the award, Newcastle had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.
Your Feedback Helps Shape Future of Downtown Newcastle

Through a series of workshops, walking tours and a non-scientific poll, about 500 people who live, work and shop in the area contributed to a process that will help shape Downtown Newcastle for years to come.

Celebrate Volunteers this April

April is National Volunteer Month and over the next few weeks, Newcastle will recognize volunteers who support city programs, projects and events.

During the first quarter of 2017, volunteers contributed more than 250 hours of their time and talents. These outstanding contributions represent a community benefit valued at $6,800.
Crews Respond to Two Spills in a 48-Hour Period

Newcastle's stormwater management staff was hard at work the week of April 3, responding to two different oil spills in a 48-hour period.

Staff's knowledge of the stormwater system, spill response training and preparedness allowed the city to move quickly and minimize any impacts.
