As expected, there will be a large 200-card basic set which features the photography collectors have come to expect from Upper Deck over the past 25 seasons. 

UD Canvas will continue in packs as well and several Young Guns are in it as well plus shortprinted cards of NHL greats and Program of Excellence graduates. 

In addition to the O-Pee-Chee Rookies mentioned above, there will be base set cards along with Retro and Red Border parallels.

Upper Deck has also added some more value to packs with all-new UD Portraits cards. This "set within a set" is expected to be popular with collectors as there will be rare rookie and legend content.

The Hockey Heroes insert collection appears to draw to a close as well with the current decade being covered. A staple in the brand in recent years, there is always great interest in the autographed versions which fall at traditionally long odds.

 There will also be the final group of cards for the incredibly scarce Day With The Cup set that features members of the Los Angeles Kings. Naturally, hobbyists will also be able to find UD Game Jersey cards, which have been a staple in the product for well over a decade.

The base set will include 220 cards (110 veterans and 110 rookies). The Rookie Cards will be limited to 25 image variations with the veterans limited to 30 image variations. The base set parallels include Refractors (three per hobby box), STS-Bordered Refractor (numbered to 99), BCA-Bordered Refractor (numbered to 25), Pulsar Refractor (one per box), Black-Bordered Refractor (numbered to 15), Gold-Bordered Refractor (numbered to 10), Red-Bordered Refractor (numbered to 5), SuperFractor (1-of-1) and Printing Plates.

The Rookie Autographs will have on-card and sticker autographs. They will feature eight parallels: Refractors (numbered to 150), STS Refractor (numbered to 99), BCA Refractor (numbered to 75), Black Refractor (numbered to 25), Pulsar Refractor (numbered to 15), Gold Refractor (numbered to 10), Red Refractor (numbered to 5) and SuperFractor (1-of-1).

There will also be Rookie Autograph Image Variations.

The inserts will feature Fantasy Focus and 1985 Topps Football designs. The 1985 Topps designs will fall at a rate of just one per box, but will come in Refractor, Pulsar, Superfractor and Autograph versions.

Topps is included Chrome Rookie Die-Cuts (one per box), 1,000-Yard Club (one per case), and 4,000-Yard Club (one per case). Each will have Blue Wave, Red and Superfractor parallels with Autographed versions.

Each box will also contain a whopping 48 insert cards and the selection is impressive. 

Among the collections found inside packs include Elite Series, which has a Status Die-Cut parallel version and is limited from anywhere between one and 199 copies. 

Elite Dominators will also make their basketball debut and has a signed version that is certain to be a tough pull. It was noted by Panini that the insert program will feature cards that are numbered to career stats, seasonal stats and jersey numbers in addition to having one-of-one versions. 

Additionally, every box is expected to yield 24 Metalized cards.

The major hits come in the form of autograph and memorabilia cards, which fall once or three times per box respectively. 

The Rated Rookie Signature Patches will be dedicated to this year's best new players, including many first round picks. 

On the memorabilia side, Jersey Kings will not only have a retro design, but it will feature a crown-shaped die-cut area for the swatch of memorabilia. 

Timeless Treasures will have the best of both worlds as many of the game's best are placed on an updated version of the classic design used in 1987 Donruss Baseball along with an autograph and piece of memorabilia.
