QI Grant Received to Support CCPM

The Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) has awarded a Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Program Grant of $200,000 per year for three years to Pines Health Services to support quality improvement initiatives of our affiliated ACO, Community Care Partnership of Maine. Pines Health Services will contract about $190,000 a year to CCPM, which will contract with PCHC for quality staffing support services to meet the goals of the initiative.  Two performance improvement coaches and a data analyst will be recruited to support joint quality initiatives.
Baer Foundation Supports Clubhouse

We are pleased to announce that the Sidney R. Baer, Jr. Foundation has awarded PCHC's Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse $50,000 for its Supported Education Program. The Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse Supported Education Program offers academic, financial, and social support to help clubhouse members continue with or return to school or other programs.  The program will address the full spectrum of members' educational aspirations, from learning to read to obtaining an advanced degree.

The Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse serves more than 120 members and focuses on recovery from mental illness through the use of a therapeutic environment that includes work responsibilities within the Clubhouse and community partnerships for employment opportunities resulting in meaningful relationships, increased self-sufficiency and an overall improved quality of life.
From Our VP of Medical Affairs

I would like to share with you recommendations of the Treatment/Recovery group of the Maine Opiate Collaborative, a task force formed by the US Attorney's office to help to address opioid addiction in Maine. I served on this arm of the Collaborative and we had a large and enthusiastic group who made a lot of recommendations!

I want to focus on the most critical of these; Increase access to evidence based Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) across all 9 public health districts in Maine, with a goal of reducing overdose mortality by 50% each year. Broadly speaking we recommended the following:
  •  Analyze resources and develop integrated MAT services in all 9 public health districts.
  • Monitor access on a quarterly basis and make adjustments as necessary.
  • To the extent possible, prioritize all available funding for Substance Use Disorders to support these efforts.
CHC Week & PCHC Employee Appreciation
Each August, PCHC celebrates Community Health Center Week all month long with Employee Appreciation Barbecues and Service Recognitions around the organization. Executive Leaders personally donated to the cost of the barbecues and served employees, while giving out raffles prizes and service awards. More than 120 of our 750 employees received service recognitions ranging from 5-30 years.  We could not be more proud of our employees and the important work they do every day to support our patients and champion our mission.
