Dear TST Families,

It is so wonderful to see all the engagement and learning going on in and out of our building, as our religious school year draws to a close. Our third graders celebrated reaching their tzedakah (charity) goal through a Sunday morning pajama party, during which they bonded with their classmates, and watched the video of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat." This Wednesday (our final Wednesday), they will be acting out and singing scenes from this musical, directed by their wonderful madrichim (student aides). What a fabulous capstone this will be on concluding the book of Genesis in their year of Torah study.

Our fourth grade students and parents participated in "Cemeteries are for the Living," facilitated by JCAM - the Jewish Cemetery Association, at the Framingham-Natick Hebrew Cemetery. This program exposed children and adults to the historic and artistic elements of Jewish cemeteries as living museums. Parents and students played the role of detectives, to find clues about people's lives through their gravestones. This program, as well as their trip to Mayyim Hayyim ( the mikvah/ Jewish ritual bath) were important parts of their study of the Jewish life cycle this year.

Our fifth graders joined with their partner students at Israeliya School in Haifa for their long awaited videoconference. It was so moving to watch the children bond with each other, as they compared their lives, their schools, their cities, and their Judaism, and sang songs. There were tears in my eyes as children, parents and teachers in Boston and Haifa sang Hatikva, as one, and strengthened our love for Israel and for each other.

Our sixth graders, this Wednesday, will learn from our current AISH students and madrichim about the exciting programs which await them next year, and are invited to participate in the concluding CelebrAISHon with grades 7-12 on Wednesday evening.

We have an exciting end of the year program planned for Sunday, May 6. Students will have time for closing activities with their teachers. We invite all parents to join us for our final year-end celebration in the sanctuary at 10:20 am, when each grade will have a chance to share something special from their year. Our family BBQ follows at 11 am.
