Dear TST Families,

We are very excited about all the upcoming programs at TST in this coming week. Our fourth and fifth graders will have special leadership roles in our service  Friday evening ser vice this Shabbat, followed by a family dinner and a youth games program. Our third graders will participate in Siyyum Hasefer to mark their learning to read Hebrew. The will receive their very own tefilah binders with special personal bookplates prepared by their parents, and will lead our morning service, followed, of course, by a celebratory Shabbat brunch. This coming Sunday, is Mitzvah Day, a day when families get to put into action a vital part of what we learn in religious school. Below are  two important updates:

Rise Against Hunger:
What We Have:  More than 200 great volunteers signed up to join us to pack meals for food-insecure people worldwide.
What We STILL Need:  We are half-way to our goal of $11,600 so we can pack 40,000 meals  in honor of the TST 40th anniversary.  Thank you to the generous donors who have helped us raise almost $6,000 to date.  This money provides the food supplies for this project-just 29 cents per meal!
What You Can Do : A donation of just $29 will provide 100 meals; $290 will provide 1000 meals.  Suggested donations - 400 meals in honor of the 40th anniversary, at a cost of $116, or 4000 meals for a $1,160 donation?
Every dollar helps; every 29 cents will pack one more meal.  Please consider making a donation of any amount at the link below.

Recognizing Tikkun Olam at Dick's Sporting Goods, this Sunday from 12:30-1:30 pm
(immediately following our Rise Against Hunger event)
The Temple Shir Tikva community will be gathering at Dick's in Natick on Sunday, following Mitzvah Day.  We will purposely spend money at the store, provide thank you cards to the Dick's staff and donate a portion of the goods purchased to the Boys and Girls Club of Waltham on behalf of TST.  Our token of appreciation is in recognition of Dick's taking automatic assault weapons off of their shelves and raising the minimum age to purchase a gun to 21, following the Parkland, FL shooting three weeks ago.

Please join us for Mitzvah Day at TST at 9:00 am, and then again at Dick's Sporting Goods in Natick from 12:30 to 1:30   for this important show of unity and solidarity.  We can take this visible step to help curb gun violence as a community.

I hope you were all able to stay warm and safe in our latest March storm.
