Vacation Bible School

VBS Season is here!  As you prepare for the thundering sound of little feet running around in excitement while they learn more about Jesus, we are praying for you.  We pray that God brings to your program the children who are thirsting for His Word.  We also pray that your team is given an extra dose of God's grace, patience, and wisdom as you come in contact with His little ones.  We understand the pressure that seems to hover over you as you think about VBS, but know that God has given you the exact tools that you need to overcome and emerge triumphant through Jesus Christ. With that being said, Pastor Manny is heartbroken that he will not be able to experience first hand the hard work and dedication that he knows you put into making and ensuring that VBS is a smashing success. This year, he will be standing in as Interim Summer Camp Director at Pine Springs Ranch once more.  We look forward to hearing about the amazing plans that God will bring to fulfillment during your VBS.  Although, Pastor Manny will not be able to attend your VBS, he does hope to see your kids at summer camp.  For more information on Summer Camp, please visit www.psrcamp.org.

October 18-20, 2012

By now, we are sure that you are aware of the upcoming 2012 Youth Leadership Convention.  This is not a training for Youth, but for the Youth Ministry Leaders who are in our churches.  This goes from Children's Ministry leaders to Young Adult leaders.  As part of the Children's Ministry training and sessions that will take place, we are making this our official 2012 PUC Go Fish and will be offering Basic (English and Spanish) and Advanced Children's Ministry Certification.  We will also be  including the Certification for Puppets and Clowns. Due to popular demand, the early bird registration deadline has been extended to June 30, 2012.  After the deadline, the cost for the Convention will increase $20 from $119 to $139.  We are also offering a $20 discount to SECC constituents, so register now to take advantage of this great opportunity.  We look forward to seeing you there.  For more information, please visit www.seccyouth.com.

What a great day we had at the Pathfinder Fair and to honor two of our coordinators, Dr. Dan & Sally Rogers with 50 years each in Pathfinder ministry. This is definitely a Fair to remember.  It is evident how much time and effort goes into preparing for this event.  Thanks for all your hard work.  Also, thanks to all our volunteers:  Pathfinder coordinators, drill judges, booth judges and everyone who helped make the Pathfinder Fair such a wonderful success!
While many of our clubs will be closed for the summer months, some will take advantage of the fun activities and outings.  Some of you will even be at the Pathfinder/Adventurer Mini-Camp.  Whatever your plans, we wish you a wonderful and safe summer.  Thank you for all you do for the youth.  May you be refreshed and we hope to see you for the 2012-2013 Pathfinder year!

Pine Springs Ranch

We thought that it couldn't possibly snow in May, but we were wrong!  Even though it was just a slight dusting, it snowed at Pine Springs Ranch on Memorial Day weekend.  I think it's safe to say now, judging by the warm days we've been having, that June should be snow-free.

It's just a matter of days before this place becomes a whirlwind of activity with summer camp.  All the last minute details are being tended to, and we are waiting to see what this summer will bring.  We, as a staff, pray for the young lives that will come and encounter Jesus here on this holy ground.  We also pray that the summer camp and the year-round staff members be used by God to reveal His love and grace as we serve here.  What a privilege it is to be called to this ministry!

Your support through prayer is greatly appreciated.

The Pastor has the information on the 3-Way Scholarship Plan. This plan includes the parent, church and PSR.
