Adventurers
Fun Day
This conference-wide event is held annually on the third Sunday in April on the conference grounds and is the biggest event of the Adventurer year! Clubs have the opportunity to earn money by setting up a food booth and can display items the Adventurers, Eager Beavers and Little Lambs accomplished. The day is filled with games and activities for the whole family. This year's them is "Life Apps." Contact your county coordinator with ideas for crafts and awards to promote the them. Rain has been trying to threaten this event, but God is going to be good to us. It will be cool weather, but NO rain for Sunday. So we will not be cancelling. Parking is at La Sierra Academy and La Sierra University. No parking is allowed on the streets of Pierce or Riverwalk by order of the City of Riverside. Violators will be towed at the vehicle owner's expense. A shuttle service from the university to the conference office will run before and after the parade. Read more... |
Children's Ministry
Vacation Bible School Workshops This year's VBS Workshops were a huge hit. The first one was held at the Fullerton SDA Church and nearly 75 people attended. The second one was at the Azure Hills SDA Church and we had over 200 people there. The VBS themes that were presented at the workshop are both created by Group Publishing. The Bible time based program is called Babylon and it is about Daniel during the period that he was in Babylon. The "Easy VBS" is called Sky and it's main theme is that "everything is possible with God". Our sincerest thank you to the Fullerton and Azure Hill churches, their Pastoral Teams, and also their staff for accommodating us during these times. We also would like to appreciate our churches and you, our Children's Ministry Leaders and your teams, for your dedication to providing this summer evangelism that we call Vacation Bible School to your church and to the community. Please check the VBS Funding Approval to check if your church registered for subsidy. Don't forget to fill out your VBS Report at the end of the program so that we can send you your allotted amount. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please call Liz Adams at 951-509-2260 or email us at childmin@seccsda.org. |
PathfindersPUC Camporee It's hard to believe that the PUC Camporee we planned and looked forward to for such a long time is now over and just a memory. God truly blessed our numbers with about 6,000 Pathfinders (half from Southeastern) camping from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah and many more coming to visit for the day! We've heard a lot of positive feed back from several of our clubs - awesome activities, many quality honor classes, appreciated AdventSource selling patches onsite and the Pathfinder Heritage museum. Many were inspired and blessed by the speaker, Pr. Jose Rojas. On Sabbath, 25 Master Guides were invested and 47 Pathfinders were baptized. It was amazing! On behalf of Youth Ministries, Rudy and I would like to thank all of our clubs, coordinators and volunteers for making this event a success! This event was amazing because of all your hard work at your local church and your efforts at the camporee, We sincerely appreciate all of you!! Since this event was so succesful and such a God thing, the Pacific Union has given their blessing to plan the next Pacific Union Camporee. Yes! We are doing this again! 2016 One Way . Jesus Many have inquired about ordering camporee t-shirts and the general session messages. An order form will be made available for purchasing these. I will inform you once the order forms are available.
Because of the rain, we were not able to hand out the union camporee patch or pin. So, we will hand them out to the clubs when you register onsite at the Fair. Fair This event is held annually and is the biggest and busiest event of the Pathfinder year! The Fair is primarily a time for parents and friends to see what the Pathfinder have done throughout the year. The day begins with a parade of Pathfinders marching the streets of La Sierra. There are different events taking place throughout the day: demonstrations, food booths and many other exciting activities as the day progresses. Parking is at La Sierra Academy and La Sierra University. A shuttle service from the university to the conference office will run before and after the parade and throughout the day. No parking is allowed on the streets of Pierce or Riverwalk by order of the City of Riverside. Violators will be ticketed and towed at the vehicle owner's expense. . Read more...

Pine Springs Ranch Snow Again
Snow in the middle of March?! Yes, it was a winter wonderland up here, and it looked beautiful! It was a lot of work for our staff as we dug out cars and cleared windshields, but our guests were able to enjoy the beauty and still go home safely. We're just grateful it didn't snow the weekend we had 475+ women's retreat here. That would have been truly exhausting!
ACA Site Managers' Tour
Part of our staff was able to got once again to an ACA (American Camp Association) Site Manager's Seminar and Tour. This time it was held in the Barton Flats Campground area. We toured Camp Cedar Falls, Crazzy Wasewagan Camp & Retreat, Camp Conrad-Chinnock, and Mile High Pines. The tour gave us a variety of ideas and helpful suggestions for our camp. We once again walked away feeling blessed to have such an awesome camp here at PSR, and blessed to have the supportive leadership and caring constituents here in Southeastern! We continue to ask for your prayers for our staff as we prepare for the fun and excitement of Summer Camp. |

Young Adult Changed College Tour
The inspiration for this event stemmed from the young adult devotional "Changed" in which eleven writers share some of their hardest life experiences and lessons learned. Changed: The College Tour is an effort to take some of these authors on the road, visiting the various Adventist universities of the North American Division and encouraging Latino youth, especially.
Each university stop along the "tour" will consist of an all-day event, featuring a "changed" speaker in the morning, instructive workshops in the afternoon, and culminating with a community-building talent show in the evening, featuring local university talent. The event will then move on to the next university. When each university on the "tour" has been visited, the project will culminate with a final conclusive youth rally, to be held in Orlando, Florida near the close of the year.
What does this college tour aim to accomplish? Its purpose is to begin the conversation towards reaching the following four goals:
* Strengthening ties between Hispanic young adults and Christian institutions of higher learning. Creating a consistent college-going culture:.
* Introducing more Latino young adults to the Seventh-day Adventist community of faith.
* Connecting the Latino communities of our denomination in North America that already do exist, creating a sense of kinship, community, and support.
* Creating a network of mentors who form a knowledge base for young adults who may be in search of direction.
Our belief is that this type of event, centered amidst a university community, can have a powerful influence in working in the lives of our Latino young adults. Please accept the enclosed information as an invitation to partner with us in this cause. For more information visit: www.collegetour.us.
