"They never said it would be easy, they said it would be worth it!" - Anon
Summer break is now over, but hopefully it was rejuvenating for all of you! The beginning of the school year is always exciting and hectic and this year is no different. With projects and cleaning going on all over the campus, it has been a bit crazy and it is still in full swing with our new windows currently being installed. Our student leadership has been talking about how to make this a wonderful 2017-18 school year and I am excited to see how they transform their school. As I spoke to the students this week, I could see that they were ready and excited about this year. It is a new year and beginning for us all and I shared some stories with the students about my sons' swimming season. Many of you know my boys swim: the long course season is now over and they start a new short course season. Like the beginning of school, they are full of excitement for a new season. They enter the new season with high hopes knowing all the ups and downs associated with participating in sport. The same is true about the new school year and I myself am excited as well. As we move through the year remember to lean on one another, be kind to one another, be welcoming to one another (introduce yourself), and above all be the one that makes a difference!
We shall cling to You when oceans rise and thunders roar, for You are our rock and strong tower, our comforter in our most vulnerable times. Jesus, intercede within our hearts so that we would be kind and gentle to the people that surround us, in Your precious Name we pray, Amen!
Saint Joseph our guide and guardian - Pray for us
Live Jesus in our hearts - Forever
Yours in faith,
Clay Jones

As you probably already know there will be an eclipse
on Monday and many people will be wanting to view this event. There are some real concerns about safety associated with the Eclipse. As a school, we will be allowing the students to go out and view the eclipse only if the student has ISO approved glasses that they have purchased. Mr. Peavler will have a small group of students who have been working on an experiment, but other than that we will be proactive in keeping our students safe. Again, if you would like your student to have the opportunity to view this event please purchase the approved safety eyewear and bring it to school
on Monday.
Thank you for your cooperation, it has been a great start to the year.
Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, August 24. All parents and students are encouraged to attend at 5:30pm. Saint Joseph Catholic High School believes that the education of our students is a partnership with our families. We encourage parent involvement through our Parent Involvement Program (PIP). The program is an opportunity for each family to help us accomplish our common goals in providing a solid Catholic education, in a healthy, safe and attractive environment for academic success.
PIP Guidelines
Each family with a student enrolled at Saint Joseph Catholic High School is required to volunteer Twenty (20) PIP hours each year with an additional four (4) hours per additional student also attending the school. PIP may be completed any time between June 1
and May 31 for a particular school year.
PIP hours must be completed no later than the last week of May each year with PIP Logs turned in to the school on or before that time. Parents and extended family, who are 18 years of age and older, may volunteer PIP hours for the family.
