Issue #167 - August 24, 2017

From the Carpenter's Desk:

"If you find a perfect church, by all means join it! Then it will no longer be perfect."

              -Billy Graham

"The Kingdom of heaven is like this. Some fishermen throw their net out in the lake and catch all kinds of fish. When the net is full, they pull it to shore and sit down to divide the fish: the good ones go into the buckets, the worthless ones are thrown away. It will be like this at the end of the age."

            -Matthew 13: 47-49

The church is like a net that fishermen cast into the sea. The Church can't discriminate either. Like a net, it is open to everyone in its path: good people and bad people, thoughtful people and thoughtless people. Therefore, when we find people like this in the Church, we should not be disturbed. Jesus said that it would be this way.

How should I react to people who seem to live one life in church and another life outside of church?

As I read this I feel that Saint Joseph mirrors the Church, we are here to accept all peoples and attempt to help them all to develop into productive people of society with character, values, and a purpose. My hope for our Saint Joseph community is that we do this with all people we encounter. This is not always easy, but we must not allow evil to prevail! As good people of God we must help guide all that we meet and treat them with respect. None of us are perfect, but for good people to stand by and do nothing when they encounter evil is to be evil themselves. Step up, stand up, step out, and be the positive change you want to see in the world!

Saint Joseph our guide and guardian - Pray for us
Live Jesus in our hearts - Forever

Yours in faith,
Clay Jones

Our Philosophy
Saint Joseph Catholic High School believes that the education of our students is a partnership with our families. We encourage parent involvement through our Parent Involvement Program (PIP). The program is an opportunity for each family to help us accomplish our common goals in providing a solid Catholic education, in a healthy, safe and attractive environment for academic success.

PIP Guidelines

Each family with a student enrolled at Saint Joseph Catholic High School is required to volunteer Twenty (20) PIP hours each year with an additional four (4) hours per additional student also attending the school.  PIP may be completed any time between June 1  and May 31  for a particular school year.
PIP hours must be completed no later than the last week of May each year with PIP Logs turned in to the school on or before that time. Parents and extended family, who are 18 years of age and older, may volunteer PIP hours for the family.
