SBC's Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program
The Springfield Ballet Company would like to invite you to join our FREE Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program for the spring 2014 session! Everyone interested in dance and movement, from grades K through 12, are encouraged to join us for our weekly classes!
Springfield Ballet Company staff and dancers will be at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois (300 S. 15th St.) on Friday evenings, 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., to teach a FREE classical ballet and jazz technique class to interested dancers.
Participants may begin arriving at the Boys & Girls Clubs immediately after school. Springfield Ballet Company will provide each dancer with a healthy snack and ballet-related activity prior to each class; and we will remain on site until each dancer is picked up (until appx. 5:15 p.m.)
The spring 2014 session will consist of 11 ballet classes, concluding with a recital performance at The Legacy Theatre, 101 E. Lawrence, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. Please SAVE THE DATE for this exciting performance!
Please share this information with anyone who might be interested in our Boys & Girls Clubs Ballet Outreach Program!
With help from our sponsors -- American Business Club of Springfield and Jaelin Heavisides (in memory of Phyllis Smith) -- the Springfield Ballet Company will provide all participants with a leotard, tights, ballet shoes and dance bag for each class, free of charge. SBC dancers will care for these items each week to ensure that all students are dressed appropriately and prepared for the physical demands of a ballet class.
