February 28, 2013 - Thursday Notice

 Dear Parents,

We all seemed to have returned from vacation rested and ready to carry on for the remaining months of school.  All our after school clubs will continue:  Ski Club goes until March 4; Bowling continues into April; Legos Club has a few more weeks; Homework Club is still running.  We will begin Swim Club next Wednesday at Cedarland.  Please make arrangements for your child to get to Cedarland.  If you expect your child to take the bus, please remember to call Coppola Bus.

Grade 3 will host representatives from TD Bank this afternoon.  Special thanks to Mrs. Fitzgerald for arranging this opportunity.

Please join us this Sunday March 3 for the 9:30 Mass of participation.  Grades 3, 1, and Kindergarten are responsible.

The MVCL Tournament will begin this weekend. We wish all our basketball teams good luck!   I hope to be there for some of the games.

Last Tuesday we played a great Academic Bowl game with SHS.  The Junior team did very well just 10 points shy of a win.  Our Senior team had some really hard questions and both schools were stumped on several questions.  SJS missed out by 5 points for a tie score but we are challenging one of the answers.  It was a great game for both schools.  The next match will be Monday, March 4 in the school auditorium. We are playing Hunking at 9:30.  You are welcome to join us.  Also on Monday, some students, Fr. Tim and I will be in Watertown for the TV Mass.  Set your TV channel to record this event at 9:30.  It is on the Boston Catholic channel.

We hope to start a 45's Card Club on March 11, stayed tuned for more information.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR for March 6.  It is an early release day.  There will be buses.

School and student sacrifices for Lent:  I wanted to share with our families what our students are doing for sacrifices during Lent.  Each child has a Rice Bowl for his/her money offering, once a week we have a silent lunch, some teachers have encouraged individual sacrifices in the classroom.  We are also collecting diapers for needy families.  If you are able to donate to this cause, please drop off the diapers before March 14.   Thank you and God bless our families and our cherubs.

Another call has gone out for fleece and bath towels for our Towel blankets.  We appreciate your support with this on- going project.

The Stations of the cross are prayed on Fridays at 5:00 followed by the Soup Supper in the Church Hall.  Please join us with your family.

Passion Play practices continue every Friday at 6:30. All cast members are expected to attend.

Have a great weekend!
