Summer Office Hours...
Next week begins St Luke's summer office hours. Administrative assistant Tina Heise is a seminary student at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Part of her educational requirements includes a twelve-week clinical pastoral education unit (CPE), where she will she study hospital chaplaincy at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in New Hampshire. Throughout the summer, Tina will complete many of her responsibilities remotely. All space use and communications needs will continue to be sent to Tina at office@stlukesLS.org.
Our office will be staffed on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2pm-5pm by Rachel Johnson, who will serve as church receptionist. Rachel has a great familiarity with the St. Luke's community, as she also serves on the staff of Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries.
To learn more about Tina's call to ministry, visit the Messenger here. Follow these links to discover more about CPE and the ELCA seminary candidacy process.

Anniversary Sunday Activities...
This Sunday, June 3, is Anniversary Sunday. This year, as we celebrate our 112th anniversary, you are invited to bring a dish to share for a potluck following worship. Anniversary Sunday will also present us with an opportunity to learn about anti-hunger programs through our ministry partner, the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). The mission of the GCFD is providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. A key component of that work is advocating for policies that support the fight to end hunger. This year Congress is making decisions about the Farm Bill, which is the primary legislation that guides the funding and structure for vital federal nutrition assistance programs. Find out how you can be involved in preserving vital anti-hunger programs in the federal safety net Sunday, June 3 during our coffee hour and potluck!
