Norell's News Nuggets June 2014
Steve & Barb - YWAM Minneapolis/Kids Against Hunger                     June 2014

"The gospel is not a debate or list of things to believe. The gospel is a person. Jesus Christ is the gospel. He is the truth. He is the point. He embodies all of the salvation/redemption/forgiveness/freedom stuff Himself." (Speaking of Jesus - Carl Medearis) May we all speak and live in such a way that people are drawn to Jesus.

                 Catchin' up

Since our last newsletter we have been in Singapore and the DR. We also celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at a B&B in Duluth. YWAM Minneapolis launched a new school called ECCO - English Cross Cultural Orientation. We had 19 non-English speaking students who learned English with the focus of using that skill in missions.

Syrian Refugees   Without Further Ado
After much ado... the 40' container with 270,000 meals and a pallet of new children's shoes is finally on its way to desperate Syri@n refugees. We have boots-on-the -ground on the receiving end and they are excited to distribute this in the name of Jesus. God has been doing unbelievable things in the refugee camps. Pray for our workers who have long hours in difficult conditions. Please read... Refugee News

            What is TPM?
Barb and I are very excited about training and facilitating Transforming Prayer Ministry (Theophostics). Check out this link... TPM We were privileged to lead 2 workshops in May - one conference in Wisconsin and one in the DR. Many have seen their lives transformed by Jesus through this valuable ministry. We are hosting 2 TPM training seminars in a few weeks.

             KAH update
Barb and I love hosting Kids Against Hunger events and talking to children and adults about compassion, why we should care for the poor and what we can do to alleviate hunger and suffering in the world. In the last month we have hosted 2 mobile events in the local public schools involving over 1000 grade school students.

Kent is Here to Stay!

You can take Pastor Kent out of the Dominican Republic and out of YWAM but you can't take the DR and YWAM out of Kent! My little brother Kent (who is 6' 4") was set in today as our permanent pastor at City Hill! He brings his rich missions experience to our church body. He was my boss in the DR and now is my pastor. I don't mind a bit.
