Greetings!

Customizing your wedding is very important! This is your special day and it should scream BRIDE & GROOM!  From the colors and decor to food and entertainment... make your choices reflect your unique personality and interests. Examples of what we've seen in the past are showing school spirit by choosing school colors, opting out of the DJ realm and hiring a bluegrass band, incorporating family heirlooms and antiques (i.e. china), and an appearance of JMU's mascot, the Duke Dog. Other fun touches include board games, a cookie bar, a float station, choreographed dances, wedding party photos with a fire truck, and much more.  These weddings become memorable because the couples put their own twist on the traditional wedding activities. Remember this is YOUR day and it should show throughout the ceremony and reception!

Sincerely,

The Staff at Stevenson Ridge

News at Stevenson Ridge
At Stevenson Ridge, we are pet friendly and encourage brides to incorporate their furry family members. Often, pets are an important participant in the festivities and should be a part of this special occasion. We've seen dogs included in the ceremony or just posed for photo purposes. Also, most of our cabins are pet friendly so if you're staying on-site they'll be able to spend the night too. Bring Fido and your guests will melt in their seats at the sight of your adorable friend!

The natural setting at Stevenson Ridge invites visitors to relish the bountiful beauty. Canadian Geese often announce their arrival and glide happily onto the pond. Butterflies dance on the variety of flowers in the landscaping, especially enjoying the lime trees, which are now heavily laden with ripe fruit. The fresh air and sunshine combined with our tranquil setting is truly something to be experienced by reserving your stay soon, in one of our romantically rustic cottages, as the summer wanes and the migration begins. Stevenson Ridge will be adding a new addition to the farm so stay tuned for more details.

Featured Weddings: Cocktail Hour
After your ceremony, the Cocktail Hour is where your guests get the first glimpse into your reception. While you're off taking photos with immediate family & the bridal party, the rest of your guests are socializing while they await your arrival. It's important to make sure your guests are enjoying themselves, as it sets the mood for the rest of the evening. Spice up your cocktail hour with a live band, lawn games, photo-booth or other fun activities. Also, make sure you have enough food and a variety of tasty morsels for guests to snack on... or how about passed signature cocktails!  Remember, the cocktail hour is still part of your reception and needs just as much attention to detail as the rest of the celebration.

Vendor Corner: Metts Coffee
There is no better way to warm up your reception than with a Coffee Bar!  Whether you opt for a simple coffee and creamer station, or full bar including espresso beverages, flavor assortments and garnishes served by professional baristas... this is an interactive and fun way to add a bit of extra flavor to your wedding day!  Mett's Coffee, a local Fredericksburg business, explains the difference between a coffee station & coffee bar. Additionally, they illustrate the advantages of having a full Coffee Bar at your reception. Now, let's enjoy a piece of wedding cake & delicious coffee!
