Celebrating 50 years of action-packed service!

March 2016

Food for Thought
This past year, the Food Pantry at TCAA's Escalante Center distributed more than 572,000 pounds of food. We saw 2,073 new clients at the pantry, and 754 of  them  came during our extended evening hours -- which give those working a day job th e ability to pick up food for their family after work.

In late February, TCAA took part in the annual Tempe Empty Bowls program, a two-day event that raises money for organizations that feed Tempe's hungry, including our food pantry. In its 15th year, the event sells handmade bowls (by local artisans and students) for $10 each and Whole Foods generously provides a serving of soup. Over the years, this volunteer organization has raised more than $165,000! See below for more details on this year's event.

Our food pantry always needs help. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary serving the Tempe community, I invite you to consider making a one-time donation of $50 or becoming a sustaining donor at $50 per month. Each $50 gift can provide 200 meals ... an investment that pays great dividends in our community. Visit our website to donate
