Antioch Coastal CleanupSeptember 21st, 9 AM - Noon The 29th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, the state's largest volunteer event, will take place on Saturday, September 21st, 2013. The event is expected to draw more than 70,000 volunteers who will combat marine debris at over 800 locations throughout the state by removing the trash that has accumulated on California's beaches and inland shorelines over the past year. Get out there, join the effort in Antioch, CA. There are three locations to choose from: Antioch Marina, Prewett Park & Fulton Shipyard. Click here to signup.

Remember 9/11 Memorial Concert East County Resource Center 1023 West 2nd & L Street
Honoring our first responders and remembering the lives lost -- we must never forget. Event begins at 5:30 PM, September 11th, with light food & refreshments. The Jessica Cayln Concert begins at 6:30 PM, followed by a candle light memorial at 8:00 PM. Click here for more information.

Umpqua Bank Artist Exhibit 3700 Lone Tree Way, Antioch Continues through September 24th The Arts & Cultural Foundation of Antioch is partnering with Antioch Umpqua Bank on a bi-monthly art exhibit providing local artists a venue to share their work. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM. Featured artists for this exhibit are: Jeanette Ahern, Rosalinda Grejsen, Diane Klein Gwynne, Kay Kirby and John Nicolini.

Artists living in and around the Delta, with the many hills and valleys, along with East Bay Regional Park properties, have an abundance of opportunities to capture nature and all its wonders in many art forms. The Nature's Canvas Exhibit, will feature nature, in all mediums. The exhibit is open all artists on a first come basis, up to a total of 35 artists. The work must focus on nature. There is no entry fee and each artist may enter two pieces of work. The exhibit runs from October 5th - 26th, with the free on Artist Reception Saturday, October 5th, 2-4 PM. Click here for details.
