The Beacon Council International Advisory Committee Chair Carolina Rendeiro, ProChile's International Director Carlos Honorato and Chile's Trade Commissioner in Miami Gustavo Rodriguez, made a presentation on Chile's economic outlook at an Aug. 9 committee meeting. Chile's recent economic results are outstanding: the economy has grown by 6 percent a year for the past two years, exports have increased by 20 percent and inflation has remained at 3 percent per year.

Chile has become the first Latin American member of OECD, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Mr. Honorato explained that his country's goal is to reach the status of a developed economy by the year 2020.
Trade Commissioner Rodriguez explained the role of ProChile as the agency in charge of simultaneously promoting Chilean exports and the internationalization of Chilean companies. Miami-Dade County is an attractive entry point into the U.S. market. With The Beacon Council's cooperation, ProChile's office in Miami is organizing a business seminar scheduled for Oct. 21-26, 2012 where at least 20 companies interested in doing business in the United States will participate.
