Before I get started I want to give you an update of Scott's mother, Rae Lomelino. She had her first treatment this past Wednesday which was 5 hours long. Rae has a wonderful spirit but we ask that you pray for her daily. God has been faithful so join with us as we pray for her healing and wisdom for the doctors.
Also, many of you know Glen & Pat Gobel that traveled with us for a couple of years. Glen received word this morning that his father, Charlie Gobel, had passed away. Please keep the Gobel family in your prayers during this time of loss. His father lived in Sevierville, TN so please pray for safe travels.
Last Friday was our second time to be with Dixie Forte and the folks at Tabernacle of Praise in Hannibal, MO. This was their monthly "National Day of Prayer" service and we were glad to be a part of this evening of praise! The church drama team started the service off and how exciting to see a great group of young people. They had just returned from a missions trip to El Salvador so you can imagine the energy they brought to worship! If you have every visited a third world country you understand the statement "brought energy into worship!" We had several folks from other churches join us and we were so thrilled to have the opportunity to be back in Hannibal once again. Dixie had her committee coordinated and organized and they were there to worship. After the service they had prepared a wonderful meal and we had a great time of fellowship together. We left spiritually and physically full!
Saturday morning our dear friend Marty Moreland met the bus in Troy, IL. We were so blessed to have him spend the weekend with us and help drive. We had lots of territory to cover in a few hours and I can't tell you how wonderful it was to have someone do the driving so we could get a few hours of rest. Thanks Marty!
Saturday evening we were in Bridgeport, IL with Lorraine Productions with a full evening of southern gospel music at Bridgeport Assembly of God. We appreciate Darrell & Phyllis Thacker for putting together several concerts throughout the year and for allowing our family to be a part. We shared the evening with our dear friends One Voice, The Shepherdsmen Quartet and The Gospel Messengers. Darrell, Phyllis & Paula always start the evening off with a few songs. Then he played "Mansion Over the Hilltop" on his harmonica while Gracen, Deon & I accompanied him. It was amazing to see little Gracen (5 years old) play along on the drums and not miss a beat. Normally Mark Fitch is there to drum but sorry Mark, a 5-year old took your place! HaHa! We had a great evening and what a sweet spirit. Phyllis always puts together a big meal for all the groups and we appreciate her great cookin'! We want to thank the folks at Bridgeport Assembly for opening their doors and for everyone who attended.
By the time everthing was packed and the bus loaded it was almost 10:30 pm and we headed the bus east for our next service in Bellefontaine, OH. Marty took us safely through the night and we pulled into Wal-Mart in Bellefontaine at 5 am. just a few miles from the church. Our load in time at 1st Church of God was 6:30 am ( 5:30 am Illinois time) and we appreciate Brandon meeting us and helping us get things hauled in for two services at 8:30 & 11:00. We so looked forward to being with Pastor CJ Plogger once again. He use to Pastor Pekin Church of God and move to Bellefontaine a few years ago. We had two fantastic services and what a blessing to have the freedom to really share the Gospel. Let us realize how blessed we are to have the freedom to worship and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We met so many new friends and look forward to being with them again in 2013. It was so wonderful to see a church growing not only in number but in commitment and with such compassion. We thank the church for their kind generosity and we thank the Ploggers family and Brandon & Sheridan for taking us to lunch at the China Grill. We really had a blessed day and thank the Lord for the opportunity to be in Ohio.
Please be in prayer for thousands struggling through hurricane Issac. We soon see how blessed we are, so let's be thankful!
