I had one of those great moments this week. It was one of those "AHA" moments where something happens and it changes your entire perspective of things.
I have a men's group that meets at the office every Tuesday morning at 7am. Usually we have 7-10 guys there, depending on who oversleeps and who doesn't! This Tuesday we had 7. We were discussing the story of Dorcas and talking about legacy, and had even had a discussion about writing our own obituary. I was trying to come up with something to get us thinking about things that are eternal, things that will leave a lasting impression on those that we come in contact with.
So then it happened...I asked the question "If you didn't have any limits, what would your ministry look like in your wildest dreams?" WOW!!!!!!!!!
The answers I heard were amazing and I could not get them out of my mind the rest of the day, and even this morning as I write this. Here is what I heard from these 7 men:
- 3 of the men want to be pastors, one a campus pastor!
- 2 of the men want to write books
- 1 wants to bring 929 back to "it's glory days"
- 1 wants to go to a 3rd world country
- 1 wants to be "father to the fatherless"
A desire to minister to the homeless, help guys coming out of jail, take youth on a mission trip, to be a spirit led prayer warrior!!!
This was so powerful for me to hear these men's deepest and wildest dreams about what they think God could use them for, for the Kingdom.
I realized in hearing these dreams, that one of my biggest roles now is helping men develop plans to reach these goals and to be praying for these dreams to come true.
What is your widest dream when it comes to what God could use you to do? Why don't you sit down and write it out...and give me a copy of it. I would love to see what your dreams are.
I love you guys!
