We Save You $$ Re: Online Subscriptions

More and more newspapers are charging to read their content online. Recently, for example, all of the Gannett papers started charging at rates from $10/month and up.

All papers will allow you to read a few stories free each month before the charges kick in, but if you need to check them daily, you'll soon be denied access unless you pay.

In that way the Empire Page reduces the number of papers you would have to subscribe to in order to check subscription-charging papers daily. We actually save our subscribers many times our subscription fee.

The Empire Page will continue to provide links to stories from newspapers that charge and if you only access a few each month you won't have to subscribe, or you may only have to subscribe to one or two instead of the dozen or more that currently charge.

Mystery Headlines     Capitol Building

Newspaper headlines vary in the extent to which they tell you what the article is about. Editorials in particular can be cryptic or, striving to be cute, they may provide no clue about their subject.

If that's a problem for your organization, consider subscribing to NYS E-Clips--the advanced news monitoring and reporting system--jointly offered by the Empire Page and New York StateWatch.

Because NYS E-Clips searches include the content of each news story, editorial and column, you are less likely to miss an important news item.

Free trials of NYS E-Clips are available. Click here to learn more.
