FIRM NEWS and RECOGNITION:

We are proud to announce that Faye Riva Cohen, Esquire has received a Martindale-Hubble "Preeminent" AV-Rating for 2017 (see here).

On May 24, 2017 Ms. Cohen, Esquire was featured in an article entitled "Pushing at the Edges" published in the 2017 Superlawyers Magazine regarding her experiences as a female lawyer who got her start in the 1970s.  You can see it here.

Speaking of Superlawyers, congratulations to Ms. Cohen who was named a 2017 Thomson-Reuters Superlawyer (see here) and James W. Cushing, Esquire who was named a 2017 Thomson-Reuters
Rising Star (see here)!

We salute Eric Rayz, Esquire and the law firm of Kalikhman & Rayz, who
are part of our attorney referral network, as one of the sponsors of the Gala4ACure (see here).  They raised $70,000 for the American Cancer Society at their 2nd annual gala held at Golden Gates on February 23, 2017.  Ms. Cohen attended the gala and enjoyed eating the many varieties of Russian foods that were served, as well as the entertainment, auction, and meeting members of the Philadelphia Russian-American community.

On March 11, 2017 Ms. Cohen was invited to the Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Reception (see here).  Here is photograph from the event:

Since our last newsletter, the Firm has been featured in the news across the country!  We have taken on American Airlines to seek justice for its employees.  We are representing two flight attendants who allege that they were subjected to a campaign of gender-based harassment on social media by their fellow coworkers. Despite providing American Airlines supervisory personnel with substantial evidence of this harassment, their complaints were systematically ignored.
Be on the lookout for this story in other news sources as it is gaining traction!

On a personal note, on March 4, 2017 Ms. Cohen's granddaughter Chloe won the fifth grade spelling bee for the for the City of Philadelphia!  Congrats to Chloe!

Finally, congrats to one of our alumni, Shan R. Shah, Esquire, who recently got married!  To celebrate his nuptials, he had a wedding ceremony in India in February 2017, and had a reception in the United States on March 25, 2017.  Mr. Shah is an attorney who practiced with our firm before moving to Washington D.C.  Best wishes to Shan and his bride!

LATEST TESTIMONIALS
:

MK: Faye Cohen helped me negotiate a severance package with my former employer. She was able to settle quickly and worked very well with the employer's attorney during the process. She is very knowledgeable and experienced in labor/employment laws which made me feel at ease as she worked on my issue. I cannot say enough about her professionalism, accessibility, and expertise during the process. She helped reduce my anxiety level from 100% to 0% because I knew I was in good hands. Faye also assisted me a few years ago with issues I was experiencing with an employer while on short term disability. She truly is a "Super Lawyer" and I highly recommend her and her fellow associates.

JL: You could not ask for anyone better to be on your side. Faye Riva Cohen, Esquire has the reputation of being the best and after working with her it is clear why she is known for being the top lawyer in the area. The Law Office of Faye Riva Cohen, P.C. has been an amazing resource for me. As a young minority woman in a male dominated industry having Faye as resource has been absolutely priceless and indispensable. Ms. Cohen's extensive experience, knowledge, and practical sense is unmatched. Faye has a way of empowering you to follow your rights. She has a natural and assertive way of reinforcing your case. Faye pummeled the competing law team and quickly educated them on employment and harassment law that the opposing law team obviously were unaware of. I highly recommend Faye Riva Cohen and would not go to anyone else for legal advice.
