Help patients control blood pressure

Did you know that one in three Americans (nearly 80 million adults) have high blood pressure? According to research, high blood pressure can lead to major health issues, including heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure and more. High blood pressure costs an estimated $48.6 billion each year, from medications to health services to missed work.

The AHA and AMA partnered to launch Target:BP, national initiative aimed at reducing the number of Americans who have heart attacks and strokes by urging medical practices, health service organizations, and patients to prioritize blood pressure control. Target:BP supports physicians and care teams by offering access to the latest research, tools, and resources to reach and sustain blood pressure goal rates of less than 140/90 mmHg within the patients populations they serve.

For more information on the Target:BP initiative, register for an upcoming webinar on Feb. 22 at 1pm. Visit the Target:BP website to check out the free resources and information.
