Greetings from Port Ludlow -
Love is still in the air in Port Ludlow...and the readers have spoken. (oh, and today is National Peanut Butter day - hope you've tried the local CB Nuts Creamycrunchy...make your toast and spread some PB and read on....)
Here's a couple of responses that we thought many of you might relate to and enjoy.
"This may not fall into your "fall in love" category, but it is a story of how I fell in love with Port Ludlow.
My mother had Alzheimer's and Dad couldn't take care of her anymore and besides he had to go into the hospital for cancer surgery. We tried two different places for her before we found the right one. It was hard making all the decisions and dealing with the emotions and I was so frazzled. My wonderful hubby booked a night at the Inn at Port Ludlow. We had never been before. I ended up crying most of my way through dinner. Your staff was probably curious but maybe they could see I was just winding down. I didn't sleep much that night - just sat looking at the fire and taking in the peace. Oh, I needed that peace. We've been back several times. The peace is still there."
"My husband, Shawn, and I spent the day here in September on our 7th anniversary. We loved the entire day. What a romantic part of Washington State. We would love to go back and enjoy it again!"

Ok - not so sure this will be a love match - but hoping you will join us for the
SHOW DOWN
between local (amazing) homecook, Deanne Pedersen and Chef Dan. SHE has determined the entree and has it "mastered" - HE will find out two hours prior to dinner what the ingredients are and will have to make his version of this dish. YOU, the guests, will have an opportunity to enjoy both dishes and then "judge" the favorite. Either way, we promise an entertaining evening and some yummy food. Reservations are a must for this one.

And then, one of our favorite holidays is Easter. The ONLY day of the year that we do a "traditional" buffet - and it is always a full house. Wear your Easter Bonnets (or not) and join us for this special day of celebration (EARLY this year....)
Plans are in the works for a really cool event for
BRIDGE players. Here's more information if this is your cup of tea.
BBQ nights have been quite a hit - and this month we are offering up
Wednesday night Mac n' Cheese. Check out the menus and call for reservations. In case that's just too much pasta for you, we will offer the daily dinner menu each evening as well. (and for the true pasta lovers, you are in luck with five (count 'em 5) Wednesdays in March!)
And for all of our wine lovers out there - we have one coming up soon - CADENCE will be with us in April. Then Woodward Canyon in June, Camaraderie in July and Bookwalter in November. How's that for getting your calendar in order?
Check out the future offerings in the SAVE THE DATES below.

P.S. Chef Dan and Aaron visiting with Farmer John and his crew from SpringRain. This is the meeting where they plan the upcoming season - and one of the items we get from this local farm is fresh turkey....we tell them how much we want, and they grow to that need. Guess how many pounds of turkey we ordered from SpringRain for Thanksgiving in 2015? Closest answer gets turkey day dinner for two this year....and yes, that includes the intentional leftovers.

Last month's photo was taken at Fort Worden and many interesting stories surfaced with this one. There are so many beautiful hikes here - hope you can enjoy the history and the views soon, too. The winner was Diane Neesz and she will be enjoying an overnight stay at the Inn for the correct (and first) response. Another great, and correct, response came from a gentleman who visited the Battery Powell at Fort Worden in the summer of 1966 - almost 50 years ago! Thank you for making the time and playing along.
