Happenings at the Resort...April 2016
Greetings from Port Ludlow -

YEA - we are now at MORE hours of daylight than night! What a difference this makes!

And Spring came early....that means we have full blown green - bursts of every shade in the crayon box! Speaking of coloring - join us for the April Community Night -  COLORING! 

Another of my favorite colors is RED and we will enjoy some of that with the April 22nd WINE dinner! Will you be joining us? 

AND it means our friends with STRUNG ALONG will be with us - if you are a knitter or know a knitter, please come to the Marketplace - This is open to the public and is always fascinating! (and speaking further of color - their theme this time is "Color and Texture." How's that for fitting in?!)
AND we have the T-37 competition April 16th - talk about COLORFUL.... Come and enjoy these beautiful, remote controlled boats at the lagoon (between the Marina and the Inn).
So, April is one of my favorite months - for all of these reasons and it is Birthday month for me! This is not something I usually think about all that much - but this year is a DECADE one - and that does make one pause....so grateful to be celebrating in this beautiful spot on earth. And my hope for you is to do the same - whether a birthday, anniversary or just because you are grateful....or because you LOVE the Farmer's Market! Yes, it is time for the OPENING DAY.
We had such a terrific time with local home-chef, Deanne Pedersen and Chef Dan! Here she is with her award wining smile!  Check out the recipe for the Beignet and Crawfish Monica in the sidebar if you'd like to try your hand at this one.

Last month we asked: How many pounds of turkey did we get from SpringRain Farm for our Thanksgiving dinner - the answer is 441.9 pounds - and our winner, Coach David Geer from Texas was our winner! Thanks, Coach - we look forward to having you with us in November!
So, this game of golf can be a bit intimidating. If you have THOUGHT about trying it - read on - our Marketing Coordinator, Kaitlin, braved the unknown and penned a very sweet blog about it. One thing I love about the sport is that ANYONE can learn it and it is a fantastic place to be without distraction...common courtesy is to NOT have your phone, etc. Where else can we have that kind of focus these days?

Port Ludlow Golf Club has been hard at work restoring the golf course back to its original Robert Muir Graves design. The
low-impact renovation has improved the irrigation system, bunker renovation, and enlarged greens & collars while allowing for uninterrupted play. 

Save the Date...coming up on April 5th is Masters Trivia Night at Niblicks Cafe from 5:00-7:00pm. Niblicks will be offering traditional Masters sandwiches, Pimento Cheese & Egg Salad Sandwiches.

Save the Date...the For Sale by Owner Boat Show & Marine Swap is this Saturday, April 9th. 

The FSBO show is for individual boat buyers at the Port Ludlow Marina featuring privately owned boats both in the water and on trailers. The show will also feature a Flea Market/Marine Swap in the Marina's covered pavilion. Admittance to the show is free.

Opening Day for boating is Saturday, May 14th. Join the Port Ludlow Yacht Club in a meaningful celebration that morning. The celebration begins at 10:00am followed by a christening of new member vessels and a parade of boats around Ludlow Bay. You won't want to miss it...
The Cadence Winemaker Dinner is coming up on Friday, April 22nd with winemaker Benjamin Smith. This vineyard specific, terroir driven winery makes some of the best red wine blends in Washington. 

It's not too early to think about booking your reservation for Mother's Day - you know this is what she really wants.
