Happenings at the Resort...September 2016
Greetings from Port Ludlow -

Everyone has a story. This is one of the phrases we use at our property - and it was one of my favorite aspects of The Olympics this year. Sometimes the "back story" is as compelling as the accomplishment.  We talk about it as an important part of our culture....you just never know what the guest is dealing with, thinking about, needing - based on "their story."  (and, of course, this is true for our staff, vendors and locals too...)

So, something that may be fun for you is to enjoy some of our "favorite stories" and we will bring these to you in various ways in the coming months. The first one is from our resident blogger, Kaitlin - and it is her story (i.e. blog) about the Stand Up Paddle board

Next time you are in, ask our Director of Rooms, Stacy Beich, what the story is about THIS photo!  Yes, this is what we do on our "days off".
Can you IMAGINE the story of THIS car in THIS place?

Another "story" is done through film or YouTube videos. Check this one out - hint - it is crazy and all about The Fiber & Farm Tour coming up!
And yet another is through music - The Brothers Four will be playing at McCurdy Pavilion - Fort Worden on Saturday, October 1st. Do you know the "local" connection on this?

And yet another is through Flipgrams (click image to view) - pretty cool way to "visualize" the progress on something....

We'd love to help you write a story - connect with us for your family reunion, holiday gathering or other celebration.  And if you simply want to come and stay for awhile, we suggest the RELAX package.

So do you "Geocache?"  If so, check out this link to a really cool competition - and stay with us at the same time...exploring the Olympic Peninsula through geocaching will surely lead to many stories of your own.

P.S. So, here's the photo for this month. What is this, where is it and what is near by? The first one to respond correctly gets an overnight at the Inn....you will need to MAKE TIME to come and RELAX!
Congrats to last month's winner, Diane Germain, who was the first to respond that the mystery photo was of a large stump near the cart path on hole 7 at the golf course. Diane won a $50 gift certificate to the Pro Shop.

What They're Saying...
This Place Puts the "R" in Relax!
"We stayed 3 nights at the inn. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The facility was lovely and our room was clean and very comfortable. The property was beautiful and so peaceful. We ate dinner at the Fireside restaurant our first night there and and breakfast twice. Everything was delicious and fresh. The breakfast potatoes were fabulous!! Would definitely stay again when in the area."

My New Favorite
This is a lovely resort. We were in Port Ludlow visiting family and stayed here for a week. Our large room overlooked the sound and we woke to the sight of sail boats bobbing on the water. It doesn't hurt that the weather is so perfect that every night we slept with the windows wide open.

While we are fairly picky and have traveled quite a bit, this place satisfied our every need - a selection of pillows, a Keurig coffee machine, fireplace, comfy bed, large TV and of course very nice bath supplies.

We only had breakfast at the in-house restaurant, The Fireside, but they were always delicious and the service was excellent.

This is the only hotel in Port Ludlow, but you would never know that there is no competition. Can't wait to go back.

Refreshing Summer Break
Recently came to Seattle for business, and decided to get out of the city and see the Olympic Peninsula. After a fun visit to Port Townsend, we stayed a night at the Resort at Port Ludlow. What a gem! We had a great dinner on the veranda and watched the sun set over the marina. The next morning, my husband golfed nearby while I enjoyed the quiet and a cup of coffee out on our private patio. We stayed in a second floor room and had a great view of the marina. I also found time for a long soak in the whirlpool tub in my room. What a refreshing break from the hub-bub of Seattle. We loved it!
