Happenings at the Resort...April 2017
Greetings from Port Ludlow -

Suddenly everything seems to be purple around here. The heather is blooming. AND we are going to see how many of you read your way through this newsletter...we hope that our "offerings" will entice you to read on - we promise it will be worth your time if you have any plans to travel to the Olympic Peninsula in the next 90 days....
The Purple Martins are coming back (what, you don't know about Purple Martins?) Two cool facts - they eat thousands of mosquitoes and they like to live in gourds - read on  for more.

And though it's not purple, it does start with "P" (ok, that's a stretch, but let's save that for my yoga push) - we have "Pork & Knife" for our Wednesday night dinners. You know, the "other white meat" and Chef must have been very hungry when he came up with these menus, because they all sound YUMMY, don't you agree? Please call for reservations at 360.437.7412 because the days are longer, the veranda will be open and we expect these to be popular.

Speaking of popular - our KNITTERS were back last week- and we continue to be grateful and amazed at how many guests visit Port Ludlow because they follow the " YarnHarlot" blog. Fresh "yarn bombings" are throughout, so if you are interested, take a stroll and be humored and amazed....

Easter is celebrated very late in the season this year - April 16th.  So you still have time to book your reservation. Maybe you should go ahead and book Mother's Day while you are thinking about it?

If you are looking for more things to do throughout the next few months, we put together a list to give you some ideas - pretty sure you will find something new - or maybe something you haven't done for awhile...and when you do, share with us - we love seeing your photos and hearing your stories...you can find us on Facebook at @portludlow or on Instagram at @theresortaportludlow.

And we are so excited to announce that, starting Sunday, May 7th, we will be offering Yoga.  A lovely way to start the week...open to locals and guests of the Inn. More details in the newsletter next month.

Hope to see you around Port Ludlow in the days ahead.......

How does the photo below tie in with our purple theme of the month? The first correct response will be our guest for an overnight stay and an hour's kayak trip...

P.S. Last month's winner was Lee Fielding who enjoyed dinner at The Fireside. The correct answer was Buddha's hand - or fingered citron - a fruit that has a sweet lemon blossom aroma and no juice or pulp.

The FSBO & Marine Swap is this Saturday. Join us at the Marina from 9am to 3pm to kick off the boating season. There's always some treasure - or something you just can't live without....and for sure, Kori will be cooking up hot dogs so that's worth coming over - if nothing else....

The Marina is pleased to host the
Sloop Tavern Yacht Club this May. Sloop Tavern Yacht Club is joining forces with the Ballard Elks to raise donations for Mary's Place. Mary's Place offers services for homeless women, children and families including shelter, food, and resources. The Marina will be donating 5% of the dues from the Sloop Tavern Yacht Club Cruise to Mary's Place. In addition, the Marina has a donations box for Mary's Place. Click here to read more about the event.

We're getting excited for August's Port Ludlow Outdoor Movie Night. This year's movie is Pirates of the Caribbean and we're thrilled to announce that the "Tall Ships" - The Lady Washington & The Hawaiian Chieftan will be at the Marina for tours. You won't want to miss this... Click here for vendor and sponsorship information.

Pacific NW Boater created a great video guide of the Port Ludlow Marina. Check it out below.....

Around the INN...
The flyer racks are FULL - we have something for everyone - so please check out the monthly Wednesday dinners through June and then the Thursday Potlatch dinners throughout the summer.  And if "adult beverages" are your preference, we can fill that bill too - we are pretty excited about our Distiller's Dinner in May...

Do you love art?  We sure do - and we love that the Art Fest is coming up on April 29th (one more way our locals support Chimacum Art Students) - stop by the Inn for more details, visit www.portludlowart.org, or register on BrownPaperTickets.

The Rhody Festival is coming up next month and we are incredibly proud of our hostess, Lauren Montgomery, this year's Rhody Queen. Congrats, Lauren! The theme of this year's festival is "Enchanted Rhody" and takes placed from May 17th - 20th. Read on to learn more about Queen Lauren.

Packages & Specials...
We often hear from guests that they love the idea of coming to the Olympic Peninsula because it is such a contrast to the "urban" life they lead...and that got us thinking...maybe our guests would like to enjoy a bit of both - the URBAN and the RURAL...so, we have a new deal with our friends at Hotel Andra in downtown Seattle. They are part of the STASH loyalty program for boutique hotels - and so are we...so it's a natural.

Check out their Urban Escapes here -   Hotel Andra , and then plan one of our FARM packages for a RURAL experience.

In both cases, STASH members will receive triple points.

What People Are Saying...
Yuriy photographing Ludlow Falls
"I got to explore a region of Washington State that I never explored before and had an amazing time not only discovering new places but learning about the local communities in the region. One of the things that fascinated me was how the businesses and lodging supported locally grown farms as well as protect and preservation of the land. I wish more communities would focus on that." - Yuriy Trebushnoy
