June is the month of Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, occurring on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 7:09 PM, Eastern Daylight Time.  On this day, the sun is at it's furthest point from the equator, giving us the longest day of the year.  Solstice is from the Latin word Solstitium - meaning "sun-stopping" - the sun stops and changes direction on this day. 

 

We begin our Farmers' Market on June 23rd, and lasts until the middle of November...more information below. Make sure you save the date for the 14th Annual Arts Walk on July 21, 2012. CruzinPort is the 1st Tuesday of each month, so come down to Front Street Port Jervis for an afternoon of classic & antique cars, food, music and lots of fun.  Enjoy the wonderful weather - go camping, eat out, play in the Delaware River, visit the many beautiful historical sites in the tri-state area and have a great month of June.  Congratulations to all the 2012 Graduates in the tri-state area - we wish them all a bright future.

 

This is also the month that we all celebrate our wonderful Fathers!  My Dad has been a constant source of encouragement, strength, and joy in my life.  He taught me how to play basketball, sing, garden, enjoy poetry, help those in need, support my community and reach out to others with respect and dignity.

It's time again for our Annual Arts Walk to be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 on Front Street in Port Jervis, NY.  We are in our 14th year!  Come and celebrate the arts in the tri-state area and see the many talented artists and high quality craftspeople here to display and sell their wonderful creations.  The event begins at 11:00 and our artists and food vendors will pack up at 5:00pm to clear the streets for the entertainment portion of the evening.  Live music on stage from local area musicians will begin at 6:00pm and just when it gets dark, we will have the movie screening of "ET" in celebration of the 30th year anniversary of the movie.  The movie is brought to us courtesy of Majestic Star Entertainment.  Special thanks to the City of Port Jervis for their partnership in making this event possible to have in historic downtown.
