News from Unity Spiritual Center Denver

In my lesson this past Sunday I talked about fear and how fear restricts our awareness of and allowing of the abundant flow of universal energy into and through our lives. As I left the sanctuary a congregant asked, "Didn't God create fear and isn't it sometimes a good thing?" I am sure I am paraphrasing, but that is what stuck with me.

I have shared many times that I enjoy living in the question, seeking a deeper understanding of life and truth. I often find that living in the question stimulates more question than answers. But, since I enjoy living in the question that is what I have done the past few days.

I am excited to share some of my revelations with you. Please know that I fully realize that this is a complex question and that what follows may seem to be an oversimplification. I offer it as a starting point for dialog, not as a definitive answer.

What is 'God'?

First, it is essential to know what we believe about God. As I stated in my lesson, no concept that our subjective minds can conceive of can capture the essence of that which is infinite. Our finite minds cannot grasp infinity. Although we do our best to express our experience of God...

Anne Achenbach is our featured soloist this week.

Many of you know her from her years at Mile Hi Church out in Lakewood, and a few of you may even remember her from the

"good ole days" out at the Country Dinner Playhouse! She performed leading lady roles in many productions there over the years, including "Camelot", "The Music Man", "Showboat" and "Nunsense", just to name a few.

Anne has an album for sale in the bookstore today called "The Gift", a compilation of fun Broadway tunes, Gospel hymns, inspirational message songs and even a few original compositions Anne wrote and arranged herself.

Better known as "Annie", she would like you to know that Unity of Denver is the very first New Thought church she ever attended. Her

beloved mother brought her to this church back in 1970, and she has been a recovering German-Lutheran ever since!

Ongoing Tai' Chi Gung Class

This class covers the history of Unity and the New Thought movement as well as basic Unity principles and spiritual practices.

2. Unity of Denver and You,
which covers the history of the church and introduces the many ways of becoming involved as an active member. This will session will be offered on Sunday, May 1st from 11:30 to 1:00.

3. Connecting to Unity of Denver, which explores the culture of Unity of Denver and how we choose to be together in community.

The classes need not
be taken in consecutive order, but must all be completed prior to becoming a voting member.
