Welcome to the May issue of the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce newsletter. 

Please keep the Chamber office updated with any changes in your business. 
We especially want to know if you have moved locations, have a new email if there`s a new contact person etc. Email is the main communication tool we use so please make sure we have yours.

Current Listing of Members to Members Discount Program
Please let the Chamber office know if you have a change for this list.
This program is voluntary and your business would offer a discount to other Chamber members and their staff.   In order for your staff to participate and be identified for the discounts, additional cards can be purchased at the cost of $5.65 (HST included) per card per year. Please contact Lorraine at the Chamber office to purchase or for more information. (The Chamber member company receives one card complimentary with paid membership).

As a member of the Chamber there is an opportunity for you to host a Business After Hours event. Here are some tips on making your event a success.

Welcome New Chamber Staff Member The Board of Directors is pleased to have Caitlin Burnett join the Chamber staff as our new Communications/Marketing Coordinator.  Caitlin will be reviewing how we communicate and market the Chamber and our programs and benefits to our members.  As well she will be assisting Lorraine in the office and working on attracting new members.

2015 Relay for Life/Petawawa
The Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of commerce has entered a team in the 2015 Relay for Life at Garrison Petawawa on Friday June 5th.

Our team is looking for donations for a great cause.  Won't you help us in the fight against cancer?

Cancer is personal to us as our Executive Director Lorraine MacKenzie battled it in 2013.  She will walk the Survivors' Victory Lap!

11th Annual Crime Stopper Golf Tournament May 22nd

Businesses are invited to participate as sponsors for the 2015 Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament.  There is an opportunity for businesses to get exposure in this event also by either being a hole sponsor at $100, or providing a prize (gift certificate).  Crime Stoppers will recognize all sponsors publicly on our website, our Facebook page and at the tournament on the day of the tournament.  Please contact Ken Bertrand at Ken.Bertrand@investorsgroup.com to get involved!

Need some shredding done?  There is a fundraising Shred-A-Thon at the Pembroke Mall on Saturday May 23rd.

Champlain Train Museum is holding an Open House on Saturday May 23rd from 12 - 4 pm. Admission is by donation.
