Twelve Months of Giving
The Events Committee would like to begin Twelve Month of Giving.  We plan on continuing to sponsor and collect items for Utica's food pantry.
Each month the pantry will let us know what is needed.  Please place the items in the bin upstairs or downstairs by the door.  We will collect these at the church and deliver them to the pantry.
Items Needed for the Month of May
Toilet Paper and Canned Soup (please no Tomato or Chicken Noodle Soups)

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.  Hebrews 13:16
Heartbeats Baby Bottle Campaign
Heartbeats is the pregnancy crisis center in Licking County.  Baby bottles are available in the back of  the Sanctuary to pick up.  Fill the bottle with cash, change, or a check and return it to Utica UMC on Mother's Day, this coming Sunday, May 13th.
Ice Cream Festival
It is only two weeks until the Ice Cream Festival!  Mark your calendars for May 26-28.  We will need many pies and workers that weekend as we are having our pie and ice cream tent once again.  Remember, all proceeds go toward our apportionments.  Watch for sign-up sheets.
Rummage Sale
If you have started your Spring cleaning, save your STUFF!  We will have a rummage sale on Saturday, June 16th, the day of the Utica Yard Sale.
The Upper Room
The new issues of The Upper Room have arrived and are on the table in the back of the Sanctuary.  These small magazines are designed to provide you with material to use in your daily devotions.  Feel free to pick one up.  You may make a contribution to the cost of The Upper Room by putting a dollar in the plastic cube.
Women's Bible Study
This Wednesday evening, at 6:30 pm in Wesley Hall, the Women's Bible Study will meet for the last session this season.  We will take our summer break and resume our studies on August 29th.  All women are invited to join us in the Fall.  More details will be given in August.

Moments with Mark #183
Are you spiritually alive?!  Is your faith vibrant, active, and grace-filled?  Are you loving God, loving others, and loving life?  Do you have a passion for the Lord and the work of the church?  Our passion for Christ is what draws others to the message about Jesus!  Romans 12:11, NIV says, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor (passion), serving the Lord."

People who are truly alive in Christ are contagious!  They get excited and have great energy and enthusiasm when it comes to their faith.  Don't just be a spiritual survivor.  Refuel your tanks with the word of God.  Recharge you spiritual battery in the word.  God's love for us should compel us to serve him with gladness.  May your spiritual life be alive and exciting! Others will notice and wonder what you have that they don't.  A passion for God is the most attractive feature we can possess!
