Greetings. Happy Thanksgiving. By the time you read this email many of you will have already eaten your first turkey meal. I say first because many of you will have more than one family gathering today. In the midst of the busyness it is important to take a little time and actually do what the title of the day says that we are to do. At our men’s prayer meeting yesterday we wondered how those that don’t know Jesus celebrate this day. Are they thankful or is it just about the meal and the football? Even as Christians we can be so focused on the festivities that we forget to be thankful. We have so much to be thankful for. God has been so good to each of us. He is truly a good, good Father. Psalm 68:19 says,
“Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation!”
The NLT says it this way,
“Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms.”
I am sure that many of us have felt Him carry us through some difficult time in our lives. David, in Psalm 103:2 (NLT) says,
“Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.”
And then in Psalm 116:12-13 (NLT)
David asks the question,
“
What can I offer the LORD for all he has done for me?”
And he answers his own question by saying,
“I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the LORD’s name for saving me.”
Lift up praise today. Enjoy your family and the food, both blessings from God. Let God know that you are truly grateful for His blessings in your life. Make Thanksgiving Day a day of thanksgiving.
We love being your pastors and experiencing God’s fullness with you. Let’s work together to transform our world.
