In case you missed it...

The Chamber sought out a skilled Customer Service trainer in our own backyard and we found her!   Thank you to Tonya Nelson, DiamondJacks Casino for facilitating this training for free to our membership.  Below is a recap of what you missed.  Stay plugged in for upcoming sessions.

Guest Service tips...

1.     Play (No horse play)

  •     Play makes your job fun
  •     Play energizes the creativity and problem solving abilities within you.
  •     Play pleases customers, and team members
  •     Play makes boring task easier to do
  •     Play makes time pass more quickly

2.     Make the guest's Day

  •    It's hard for anyone to resist a good time. Think about it... If you are feeling down and you deal with someone who's up-beat and friendly, you can't help but absorb some of their energy! If you give friendly and excellent guest service to a guest who is in a bad mood, upset or having a lousy day, would it make them smile? Would they leave feeling better than they did when they came? That is what is meant by "make their day".

3.     Be There

  •  How many times has your food order been taken wrong? That team member was not BEING THERE for you. That team member was just going through the motions without really paying attention. When you are present with guest you look at them, you listen carefully to them and you assist accordingly.

4.     Choose your attitude

  •  This is the foundation to numbers 1,2 and 3.
  •  In order to have the right attitude and consistently display all four points, you have to recognize that whether you want to or not, you choose your attitude.
Each day ask yourself this...

Are you going to physically be at work and just go through the motions? OR Are you going to truly be there?

Are you going to get through the day with as little effort as possible? OR Are you going to make it fun for yourself and everyone around you?

Who are you being while you are doing what you are doing?
