Welcome Jane Flowers - Executive Director
Greetings Chamber Members,
I'm so glad to be your new Executive Director! My first day on the job this past Monday, June 2, was full of activity. I now have a key to the office along with the security code! I have learned my new office telephone number is 601-636-1012. My email address, [email protected], is now active! Please email me to let me know how I can be of service to you, our members.
This week I observed acting chamber director, Doug Kamien, at the grand opening celebration to welcome Dr. Lake Garner at Vicksburg Family Dental to the Vicksburg Mall on Pemberton Boulevard. Our chamber ambassadors were there, too! If you are an existing chamber member, please keep us informed of any new happening at your business by making sure your website is linked to the Vicksburg Warren County Chamber of Commerce website. Kelley Hicks at our office will be glad to help you with this effort to promote your business. Copies of the new Livability Vicksburg magazine are at the Chamber office and also on the chamber website. Please feel free to stop by and pick up your copy today.
After retiring from 30 years at Hinds Community College, I am beginning a new learning curve as your new chamber director. However, unlike most instructors, I worked with business and industry for my entire career. I will appreciate any advice and or suggestions for improvement at the Chamber as I make this transition. Together, we are improving the quality of life for our community! I look forward to promoting the growth and development of your business through the Chamber of Commerce. I want to mention thank you to Chamber members, Helen's Florist, Hinds Community College and the Hampton Inn & Suites for their "Welcome to the Chamber" gifts. I'm so very happy to be your Executive Chamber Director.

DaCondra Smith
is the proud mother of two sons, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a Mississippi native. She currently holds the position of Plant Manager at Laclede Chain Manufacturing Co., a manufacturer of industrial chains and tire traction chains. At Laclede Chain she provides leadership to ensure that business objectives are met and/or exceed quality, cost, safety, and reliability. She takes great pride in running the facility "as if it were her own".
With a commitment to community organization and change, she serves on the Vicksburg-Warren County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She says, "This experience has given me a deep appreciation for the people and programs that seek to improve quality of like for Vicksburg; one company/program at a time". |
