Billie Dickson

Our April 19 meeting is a very important meeting for the future of WOWS.

* Our Board has worked hard to revise our by-laws to better reflect our current practices and to lead us into the future.  We will be voting on accepting the revised by-laws.  To view a copy of the by-laws, download here.

*  Our Treasurer and First Vice President (programs) positions are open and we need volunteers to fill these vital positions.  We will vote on officers for the next two years - not sure how we can function effectively with these positions unfilled.

*  We need volunteers to coordinate some standing committees.

If your WOWS membership is one you value then I ask you to please show that by your willingness to serve a two year term on your Board.  Please contact me at dicksrb2@aol.com or 937-427-7525 to share your interest.  You will not be left to work alone; past and current officers are willing to help you through.

Our speaker is Andy Evansen, who will do a watercolor demo at 6:30 p.m. at the Springfield Museum of Art. There are still a couple spaces left in the Andy Evansen workshop beginning April 16.  Contact Yuki Hall at yukihall@woh.rr.com for info.

See you at the meeting,

Billie

Sharon Stolzenberger will be teaching a mixed media workshop at the Springs Gallery, Yellow Springs, OH. on Saturday, April 14, from 2-4 PM. For more information contact Christine Klinger at 937 409-5047.
Susan Webb Tregay, N.W.S., T.W.S.A., W.H.S. Workshop
October 1-4, 2012

The Fairborn Art Association is sponsoring a four-day Watermedia workshop for intermediate to advanced artists, instructed by Susan Webb Tregay entitled, "Master Disaster, Five New Strategies for Outstanding Paintings!" The workshop will be held Monday through Thursday, October 1 - 4, 2012, in the Fairborn Art Association Gallery located in the rear of the Fairborn Senior Apartment Building, 221 N. Central Ave., Fairborn. Mystified as to how to take your work to the next level-or beyond? Susan can show you how. In this workshop you will create a "Flip Book" of color and design strategies that will take the mystery out of all of those elements and principles of design combinations. Taking a painting to completion is, by far, the hardest part of art. This workshop is designed to help through the last twenty percent of your painting. Cost for this workshop is $180 F.A.A. member, $195 non-member. Limit 22 students. To register for this workshop, please send a non-refundable check for $40 made payable to Fairborn Art Association, to Jane Trame, 8881 Haddix Rd., Fairborn, Ohio 45324. For further information contact Jane at 937-902-8875, 937-878-1009 or email janefvt@yahoo.com.
