Washington's Donation Tree
|
For the past 20 years Washington has had a tree placed in the front foyer to collect hats, mittens, and gloves for needy children in Norman. This year we will be doing it a little different. Sunshine, our own therapy dog, is asking that we collect for the Norman Animal Shelter.
Items that are needed:
- Canned dog and cat food. The wet pate, not the sliced kind
- Towels to place in dog kennels
- Any toys that the animals would like to play with in the kennels
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Amber Bui at 366-5984 or abui@norman.k12.ok.us

Set up at 5 p.m. and we can remain out if the skies are good after we close down the Star Party. These will be held at Washington Elementary School off SE 48th in Norman.
We will be inviting our City Council folks as the status of the lighting ordinance is once again a hot topic so we need a good turnout of scopes that night. RSVP if you can make it. We are also planning a small Star Party for the folks at Food and Shelter for Friends in the Downtown Norman area (very close to Astronomics, Inc.) during the week of December17th. All are welcome! Date and time to be determined. GAVRT - Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope (aka hunting black holes in quasars) using DSS 12, a NASA deep sky network radio telescope will be sometime during the week of November 27th at NNHS in N119.
