Community Sing Along - Monday, May 6,  at  7:00 p.m.

On Monday, May 6th, at 7:00 p.m. we will be holding our monthly music night for those who enjoy singing and would like to join others at the library for some fun.  If you play an instrument, bring it along.  If you would like to bring a song to share, please bring at least 10 copies of the music to add to our binders. (Or bring at least one copy and we'll make copies!)  Also, if you have a copy of Rise Up Singing, bring that along as well!

Computer Workshops for Seniors

 

These no-cost workshops will be held on May 7th and 20th at 10:00 a.m.  All skill levels are welcome.



 

Free Morning Movie Time - Tuesday, May 8   at 10:00 a.m.
                        
The movie will be Guilt Trip. As inventor Andy Brewster is about to embark on the road trip of a lifetime, a quick stop at his mom's house turns into an unexpected cross-country voyage with her along for the ride.

Evening Storytime - Monday, May 13 6:30 p.m

                   

The theme will be flowers and we'll craft some colorful ones!


Paper Crafts Night - May 16  at  7:00 p.m.

Do you have projects started that you'd like to finish?  Is your scrapbook only half done?  Have you  been wanting to use those stamps to make some greeting cards?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, or if you have other projects you'd like to complete or learn more about, join your friends at the library for an evening of fun and 'production.'  If you'd just like to know more about these craft projects, come and join the fun.  Bring your materials (there will be a few to share) and come on up to the library on May 16!

 

A Step Back in Time: Westhampton in the 1800s

Sunday, May 19    2 - 4 p.m.

 

           Specia l Program     

Westhampton Public Library invites your family to time travel on Sunday, May 19 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m..  come experience some activities and objects from 19th century Westhampton life.  Use a butter churn, stuff a bed ticking, and view images with a stereoscope.  Learn how to write a will, clean a rifle and work a two-man saw.  This free program offers all this and more!



Book Club -

 May 28th at 7:00 p.m.

Everyone is welcome!  This month's book will be Now & Then  by Jacqueline Sheehan



                   Grown in Westhampton                  May 28th from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

At a time when 'energy security' is a pressing issue, it's reassuring to know it's possible to create and distribute electricity on a local level.  Learn about how you can "grow your own" power from two "energy independence" entrepreneurs - Sam Taylor of Dog Bar Solar and Paul Vesel of Poderco, Inc.  Our round-table is organized so you will get an understanding of the energy independence movement on local, regional, and global levels.

 


 

Gallery Exhibit  

The May gallery exhibit will be work  from students at Hampshire Regional High School.

  

RECURRING EVENTS

 

                         Knitting Group                              Monday Evenings at 7:00 p.m.

 

Are you interested in learning to knit?  Do you already knit, but are interested in joining others to knit?  Well this group is for you!  Feel free to join the group on any Monday evening.

 

Pre-School Story Hour and Coffee Time for Moms and Dads       

                                    

Storytime will be held on  Wednesday mornings at 10:00 and will continue to be held every Wednesday morning.   Come to the library at 10:00 where children will enjoy a story and activity
.  All pre-schoolers are welcome!  Parents are invited to enjoy coffee and a chat time!  Hope to see you there! 
 

 

Coffee 'n' Chat - Every Wednesday morning in May at  10:00 a.m.

Come to the library on Wednesday mornings for a bit of socializing, coffee & treats.  It's a great opportunity to get out during the winter  and to  get to acquainted with more friends and neighbors.

 

 

Scrabble

Scrabble games will be played on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 on the 8th & 22nd  of May and on Thursday evenings at 6:00 on May 2nd, 16th & 30th.  This is just for fun, so come and have a good time.
