Greetings to all,
As another year comes to a close, I am filled with gratitude for all that we as a community have achieved in 2011. With 2 new agencies completing the WCC Community Advisor training, Boys and Girls Club of Martin County and the Early Learning Coalition, a total of 16 community agencies are equipped to refer families in need to a community of services.
In 2011, WCC Advisors assisted 2499 families in accessing community resources for their children and/or themselves, and efforts to meet the needs of Martin County's children continue to grow in 2012 through the collaborative efforts of Martin County providers and funders.
Additionally, we launched the new and improved Whole Child system in 2011, introducing updates for families and service providers that help to ease access to Martin County's service delivery system and ensure that every child's needs are met across the six dimensions of well-being.
We look forward to more achievements in 2012 on behalf of the children and families of Martin County. However, we cannot do so without the continued support of our donors and volunteers. Please consider a year-end gift to Whole Child Connection, which will directly impact the lives of Martin County's children. We appreciate your support now and always, and hope you will join us in our mission to ensure the healthy development of all children in Martin County.
Happy Holidays from our family to yours.
Sincerely, Nicole King, Executive Director |

Learn more about Children's Services Council Q: Who benefits from programs supported by the Children's Services Council?
A: The entire community benefits from programs supported by the Children's Services Council of Martin County, including children, parents, grandparents, educators, law enforcement officers, judges, and the juvenile justice system, as well as, doctors, health care workers, childcare centers, non-profit organizations, and social service agencies. The programs supported by the Children's Services Council have the potential of touching every individual and every aspect of our community in some way. Most parents and caregivers care deeply for their children. Many need help, and they deserve to receive that help in respectful partnerships. It is in everyone's interest for all children to have the chance to be healthy and successful--to thrive, grow up, and become good citizens. The Children's Services Council advocates, develops, and supports programs that meet the needs of all children and families. Respecting that different communities and different children have different needs, Council-funded programs involve parents, caregivers, and the community in planning, implementing, and evaluating the programs' successes. |
