Art Vendors and Children's Activities Aplenty at Algiers Fall Fest!

We're just over a week away from the first annual Algiers Fall Festival at New Orleans Federal City! The festival, on Sat., Sept. 26, will be held from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm. Families can expect activities for every member of the family, ranging from booths for local art vendors to a wide variety of children's activities.

New Orleans Mosquito Termite and Rodent Display
Inflatable Bounce House
There will be a special tent area for all active military personnel to register to win raffle prizes every hour during Fall Fest! Must present valid military ID to enter.

Self taught woodcarver and mixed-media artist, Charles Gillam, founded the Folk Art Zone in Algiers Point in 2000, which stands as one of the south's few "living" folk art environments. Gillam's folk art destination features work by various artists, all of whom pay tribute to Louisiana's rich musical heritage through their pieces.
"I am thrilled to be a part of the first Algiers Fall Festival. I think families in the community will really enjoy coming together to celebrate not only the military, but also local artists and each other in such a fun way," said Charles Gillam of Algiers Folk Art Zone.

Grand Opening for FREE Food & Fun!
We are excited to share that Ochsner Fitness Center will be cutting the ribbon on their new facility in Federal City during the Algiers Fall Fest on Saturday, September 26!
Stop by Ochsner during the festival for free group fitness classes and fun-filled entertainment. The ribbon cutting will take place at 1:30pm with free food from local restaurants for the public between 1pm to 2pm!
