Thank you to everyone from the greater New Orleans community who participated in the Integrated Design Workshops at Federal City! The sessions were well attended and resulted in some great ideas and dialogue between all parties.
Last week, Federal City's Master Developer, Vista Louisiana, LLC, and commissioned architect Steven Oubre of Architects Southwest, successfully completed a series of Integrated Design Workshops that provided information about the scope of the 130 acre, $150 million development project. The discussions brought together business, military and community leaders, residents, government officials, schools and various other individuals and organizations in an effort to discuss ideas that will help formulate a master plan for the West Bank's largest economic development project.
Vista Louisiana, LLC was selected as the new Master Developer this past January and has since engaged with Steven Oubre and the Architects Southwest team. ASW recently worked on the River Ranch project in Lafayette.
The teams will continue to work together to develop a mixed-use space that will accommodate retail, single and multifamily residential housing, hotel accommodations, dining venues, a recreational community, and more! The Federal City name will remain for the 28 acres of secure area and the 130 acres of mixed use development will be renamed as the project develops.
Input received from residents and community leaders has been invaluable and is viewed as an integral component to the success of this transformative development moving forward.
Stay tuned for more on the master plan coming soon!
