Poetry Month!   

Pay with a poem in April

In celebration of National Poetry Month the library will accept original poetry in lieu of late fees during the month of April. 

Late fees are not required for poem submission.  Anyone can join in to help us celebrate National Poetry Month! 
Panel Discussion with Fire Chief Ron Drake

Castle Valley Library

Your local firefighters encourage everyone to attend this vital dialog about what we can do and how we can work together.  Fire Chief Ron Drake will lead the discussion.

Panelists include:
Cody Greaves, Grand County Fire Warden
Jason Johnson, Utah Dept. of Natural Resources SE Area Manager
Jazmine Duncan, Firefighter/Town Council Member
Mitch Stock, Fire Commission Chairman
Bob Russell, Fire Commission Treasurer

Discussion topics will include:
What about the upcoming fire season?
How does the community pay for a big fire?
What do you get for your fire protection tax dollars?

From Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville, comes the story of the international musical collective created by legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma.  The 2015 documentary is 96 minutes long and rated PG-13.

Theme: The Science of Happiness

Bring your own lunch and join us for a TED inspired lunch hour!
Over lunch, we will watch recorded TED talks related to the theme: The Science of Happiness.

Light refreshments will also be provided.

TED is an organization devoted to spreading ideas.  The library is proud to host independently organized TEDx events.  For more information about TED visit their website at TED.com.

April's selection is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.  Copies are available for checkout in the library. 
Kindles with the ebook version pre-loaded are also available for checkout!  New participants are always welcome.
