AUGUST
Member-to-Member Ads
deadline is
Thursday, July 28
at 5 pM

Showcase your wares! Here's an opportunity.

The Chamber's August 17 Membership Meeting will be
a Business Expo. We're not calling it a "Small Business Expo," because any Chamber member will be able to exhibit on a first-come, first served basis.

The Expo will be held in the Cornelia Community House and include lunch. Instead of a speaker, all members present will have the opportunity to give an "Elevator Speech" about their business. Then, time will be provided to visit tables, talk with fellow Chamber members and showcase the many wonderful products from our members.

A fee of $15 will cover lunch and program. If you are not interested in showcasing, please attend and see what others have to offer, network, have lunch, and promote your business with your "Infomercial." Practice your "infomercial" or "elevator speech" to be able to get the most out of a one-minute presentation.

Tables are limited. To reserve yours and get specific information for exhibiting, call the Chamber at
706-778-4654 or
email:

Non-members are invited to attend ( bring a friend).

Cornelia seeks volunteers for Train Museum

The City of Cornelia has just finished a two-year renovation of the train museum at the historic Depot, and it needs residents' help. City officials are looking for volunteers from the community to help keep the museum open on Saturdays. Currently, it's open Monday-Friday at various times. However, Saturdays are the most available time for visitors and tourists to come and explore.
The city has worked diligently to renovate the museum and make it a historical attraction. It is a way to preserve Cornelia's rich history, centered around the railroad, making it very important to be open to weekend visitors.

Community Development Manager Jessie Owensby said, "The museum is a beautiful and educational place that's free and fun for families to enjoy during the weekend. But, we need the community to get involved in order for people to be able to experience it. We just don't have the man power that we need to keep it open six days a week."

Residents of the community who are interested in volunteering at the train museum, contact Jessie Owensby at (706)778-8585 ext. 280, or by email at [email protected].
