HART contractor Shimmick Traylor Granite JV (STG) has been busy the past few months working on the Airport section of the Honolulu rail project.
Crews are working to finalize the design of the 5-plus miles of guideway between Aloha Stadium and Middle Street as well as the 4 rail stations that are included in the Airport section.
At the site of the future home of the Airport station (above), STG has been performing various drilling activities with oscillators and cranes, and will be
pouring concrete next week after
placing a 100- foot rebar cage into a drilled shaft today.
Crews will be conducting other load tests this summer to facilitate design of the foundations for the Airport section guideway.
