LET'S COMPARE...
Standard Rail Configuration
HART's "Open-Air" Rail Cars

VS.

The trains in Honolulu's Rail Transit Project are intended to be high-capacity and high-comfort.  Each train is made up of four rail cars capable of comfortably transporting up to  650 passengers.  In times of high capacity need, each train can hold an additional 140 passengers making each train capable of transporting 800 people per trip!

Of course, having that many people on a train at once is high-capacity, but not necessarily high-comfort. That's exactly why HART's trains will arrive at each station no more than five minutes apart, during the morning and afternoon commutes.  If you miss a train, or a train appears to be full, the next train will arrive at your station within five minutes.  And during non-rush hour, trains will be no more than eleven minutes apart!

And once on the trains, you'll ride in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying free wi-fi!  All the more to enhance your HART experience!

Add it all up: h igh-capacity trains consisting of h igh-comfort rail cars, arriving with scheduled  frequency on elevated guideways.  It all equals a  reliable, eco-friendly, and efficient transportation option for Honolulu commuters that will be free you from traffic congestion!

HART TO HOLD "INDUSTRY DAY" FOR SOLICITORS OF CITY CENTER UTILITY RELOCATION

To keep with its goal of maximizing competition and participation in the construction of the Rail Transit Project, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation is holding an "Industry Day" this Monday, November 6 at the Downtown YWCA.  All construction-related entities interested in the upcoming City Center Utility Relocation work are encouraged to attend.

THE HART TEAM CHECKS IN AT THE
ESPN 1420 FAN ZONE AT ALOHA STADIUM!

One of the more popular stops on the 21-station Honolulu Rail Transit Project is sure to be the Aloha Stadium station. The stadium hosts many events throughout the year and with rail adding convenience and reliability to your commuting plans, getting to those events will be quick and easy. At a recent University of Hawaii football game, the HART Team took up shop at the ESPN 1420 Fan Zone to let people know about the benefits of rail and that plans are in the works to have interim service from Kapolei to Aloha Stadium as soon as 2020!  While in the Zone, The HART Team got a visit from some friends!

Rendering of the future Aloha Stadium Rail Station
In the not too distant future, the Aloha Stadium Rail Station will be one of the "go-to stops" along the 20-mile alignment.  Fans will enjoy a greater gameday experience by riding rail directly to the stadium and avoiding the hassle of gameday traffic!  Imagine going to the stadium with friends, family and fans to root on the 'Bows while rooting out parking problems!

RAIL PROJECT WORK IS PICKING UP SPEED,

BUT DRIVERS SHOULDN'T BE!

Construction work along Kamehameha Highway in the area south of Aloha Stadium is ramping up!  In fact, crews recently began initial drilling for the support pillars under the Airport Guideway Section (from Aloha Stadium to Middle Street).  As this critical work continues, HART would like to remind you again to stay alert and reduce your driving speed as you enter this or any other construction area.   In the construction zones along Kamehameha Highway, the adjusted speed limit is 25 miles-per-hour.

HART thanks you for your patience and understanding as crews work to complete the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.
