181 Acres on East Gros Ventre Butte Protected!
We are thrilled to announce that 181 acres of sweeping open space and prime wildlife habitat in the heart of Jackson Hole have been permanently protected - the first phase of an ambitious initiative to conserve more than 400 acres of land on East Gros Ventre Butte. We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our committed donors, a neighbor that is the new landowner of the conservation property, and grant funding from the Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust, The Conservation Fund's Wyoming Sage Grouse Conservation Campaign and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole. The full press release is available here. This conservation success was covered in the Jackson Hole Daily, Jackson Hole Radio, and the Casper Star-Tribune

Poison Creek Property Transferred to BTNF
Earlier this fall, a partnership between the Jackson Hole Land Trust and The Conservation Fund enabled the permanent protection and transfer of the 37-acre Poison Creek property to the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The property is important winter range for bighorn sheep and features a popular trailhead frequented by hikers and hunters.

The Art and Soil of Open Space
The Fall/Winter 2013 issue of Open Lands, "The Art & Soil of Open Space," is now available online! The View22 project has been a wonderful launching point for deeper conversations with some of the landowners of the project's featured conservation properties, which are shared in this issue of Open Lands.
The Jackson Hole Land Trust is a private nonprofit that was established in 1980. We work to preserve open space and the scenic, ranching and wildlife values of Jackson Hole and Western Wyoming landscapes by assisting landowners who wish to protect their land in perpetuity.
